Settlement into new life

The fight at the Matoi Corporation office soon became an internet-wide sensation as videos circulated online. It was hard to resist the temptation to sensationalize this fight that came straight out of fiction, a thing seen only in manga, anime or dramas, and the fact that the Yakuza were so badly bullied beyond belief sent tremors of fear in the hearts of many Yakuza families and other gangsters in the local area, and soon crime rates saw a noticeable drop.

This urban legend - this dark-skinned fighter - came to be known as the Black Tiger.

But how others would react to this legend was a story for another day.

Instead, we focus on Elwür accompanied by Yutsuko as he visits the local shopping alley, hoping to get a pick of the freshest produce available. Since it was the weekend and Yutsuko did not need to work on those days, she was free to accompany him on his grocery shopping.

"Hm, it feels like forever since I went out with a man!" Yutsuko gushed, "Doesn't this feel like we're going on a date?"

"It's grocery shopping," Elwür pointed out.

"I know that, baka," Yutsuko pouted, "Just let me indulge in a little fantasy here and there."

Elwür sighed but said nothing.

Their first stop was the butcher, where Elwür wished to obtain some fresh pork and chicken.

"Oh, Elwür-chan! Welcome!"

Oshiro Mitsue was a kind matronly woman, a mother of four and the owner of her butchery shop since her husband passed away three years prior. Tall and busty with slender hips and strong arms, she greets every customer with a bright smile complemented by a ruddy complexion and gentle amethyst eyes. Her arms deftly manoeuvre her cleaver, seamlessly separating two halves of a drumstick as steel cuts through the joint. Packing these two halves with the rest of the prepared chicken thighs into a plastic bag, which she handed to Elwür.

"Thank you, Mitsue," Elwür bowed.

"Oh, no need to be so formal!" Mitsue reassured, "Oh yes, here's your pork belly as well."

Elwür accepted the bag of pork and gave Mitsue payment.

"Come again!" Mitsue waved them off as they left.

"She seemed awfully friendly with you," Yutsuko remarked with squinted eyes.

"I am acquainted with her," Elwür stated, "I visited her store many times."

"Wow, just a few weeks here and already you're making friends, eh?" Yutsuko commented.

"I've had plenty of free time to explore, and help with housework," Elwür asserted.

As they travelled along the shopping alley they visited more shops - the grocer, the fishmonger and the egg-seller - and all of them greeted Elwür with familiarity.

"You're such a popular ikemen, you know?" Yutsuko commented smilingly.

"Mm."

Yutsuko felt her stomach growl, as did Elwür.

"I'm feeling a little hungry," Yutsuko muttered, "Feel like grabbing a McDonalds."

Elwür looked at her like she grew two heads.

"What? It's my usual go-to-place for a quick fix, you know," Yutsuko argued, "And it's not as if there were many eateries near my workplace."

"We're going to someplace better," Elwür declared.

"Really?" Yutsuko asked, before relenting, "Alright, I'll leave it to you."

The corner of Elwür's lips twitched ever so slightly upwards by just a few centimetres.

"You shall not regret it," He assured.
