Causing chaos

It didn't take long for the group to find the generator powering the stasis pods. The pods had been wired into the generator in a very makeshift fashion; all they had to do was follow the mess of wires and cables. Oddly, the generator seemed to be rather poorly guarded, and any hunters in the station seemed to be paying no mind to it; it made everyone feel uneasy, as if someone had planned for their arrival.

"Are we walking into a trap? It feels like we're walking into a trap," Felicia pointed out. "Sneaking in shouldn't be this easy."

"Maybe. But we can't leave everyone who's being held here," Cassie said.

Felicia sighed heavily before nodding in agreement. "I know. It's just that... Kraven & Cheetah wouldn't just let us walk into their lair and let us free everyone they've hunted down. You'd think there would be some sort of security measures in place here."

"Maybe they've been shut down," Laura pondered. "Maybe we're not walking into Kraven & Cheetah's trap... maybe someone else is clearing us a path."

"Why would anyone do that?" Gwen asked.

"Hell if I know," Laura admitted. "It's just a hunch."

"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Gwen said firmly. "For now, let's focus on freeing everybody."

The five women approached the generator and cut the power, and sure enough, the pods opened and everyone inside them woke up, storming the hunters and each other, causing all kinds of confusion and panic.

"The distraction's working. You're up, Cats," Gwen shouted.

Selina and Felicia used the chaos as a cover, looking anything that could pinpoint a location for Kraven and Cheetah. They found a few computers, but nothing that was helpful. Finally, they came upon a well hidden closet that had a small computer server and several folders in it. Without hesitation, Selina grabbed the server, and the group bolted for the exit. It was a close call, but they managed to escape with the data, and seemingly no one else was the wiser.

"Wow. That actually went off without a hitch," Gwen said, amazed. "I can't believe we pulled that off so easily..."

"Neither can I," Laura said. "But I can't shake the feeling someone wanted us to free those captives. Like they wanted all hell to break loose."

"Sabretooth did say something about causing chaos and a 'new pal'," Felicia recalled. "Think they're involved?"

"I really don't like the way this conversation is going," Gwen worried. "We may have just screwed things up even worse..."

Cassie shrugged. "Let's just hope there's information we can use on that hard drive..."
