"Sorry I'm late you two!" Kakashi said cheerfully as he walked into the training grounds with Yamato to continue supervising and helping restrain the Nine Tails. "Some poor kid lost his dog, and I had to go find it.

"Liar!" Naruto shouted, before checking the time. "2:47," he then grinned at Temari.

"...is he always like this?" Temari groaned, face palming.

"Are you kidding? I got a list of all the stupid excuses he has given us, and a much shorter one of times he actually had somewhat valid ones," Naruto scoffed, actually pulling out the paper. "Let's see... "A black cat crossed my path, and I had to take the long way around.""

"Oi, bad luck is no joke!" Kakashi pouted.

""I saw an old lady who needed help with her groceries...""

"What? You think I'm the kind of person who doesn't help the elderly?"

""I got lost on the road to life...""

"It's a confusing road with a lot of twists and turns!"

"I do believe you get the idea," Naruto deadpanned at Temari, who was now blushing about the fact that she now owed Naruto a tit fuck.

"What are the legitimate excuses?" she then asked.

"Only two," Naruto replied, pulling out a paper with much less text on it. ""I had to go looking for our client, who was too **** to find the main gate,"" he listed. "That was right before our first C ranked mission, though a run in with Zabuza made it an A Rank... And then there's this one, ""I had the misfortune of running into Gai, and he dragged me into a marathon of challenges." That one was accepted because he looked half dead when he did show up, and we know Gai," Naruto chuckled.

"...how are you a Jonin?" Temari asked Kakashi skeptically.

"...I'm very badass," Kakashi replied without a hint of shame.

"That's pretty much the only reason," Naruto agreed.
