At dance class
Anna stepped into the ballet studio already dressed for her lesson. Madam Gauthier was already up front with her walking stick and Anna took her position at the front.
“Good of you to join us, Anna,” Madam Gauthier said. “Now we will begin our lesson today, but first. We will be having a small audience. I invited some people to watch you all perform in order to prep for our upcoming performance.”
As she said that several boys and girls filed out and sat down on the seats in front.
Anna recognized a lot of them as some of her classmates. Some of them often made fun of her or teased her,
Madam Gauthier began instructing as Anna followed along. The pianist gave them a smooth rhythm.
A couple of the girls up front whispered to each other with grins on their faces. Anna couldn’t help but think they were talking about her.
