Third Test
As the door swings open, revealing a massive room, the examiner, steps forward. Her dark skin was accentuated by a swirl of silver hair that fell to her shoulders. Her eyes held a deep, sage-like quality, behind square glasses, that were as striking as they were perceptive.
The woman approaches me, her eyes fixed on mine. With a warm smile, she begins, “Welcome. I am Guidora, your examiner for this test. The significance of the written test is often overlooked, given the glamour of the physical ones. Yet, it is here, on these blank pages, where your true potential is measured.” She folded her hands, regarding me with a steady gaze.
“In the heat of battle, your agility, your strength, even your ability to strategize, are essential. However, a true hero,” she leaned forward, her gaze never leaving mine, “is also defined by their understanding of the world, their ability to empathize, their capacity to reason, and their propensity to learn. These are your intellectual muscles, as crucial to flex in this field as your physical ones.”
Her voice carries a tone of utmost importance as she continues, “In this room, it's just you and your thoughts. The written test is an opportunity to express your knowledge, apply concepts, and showcase your analytical skills. It tests your ability to communicate ideas effectively and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.”
Guidora gestures towards the stack of papers and the pen on the desk. “Those three pieces of white paper hold the gateway to unlocking the depths of your understanding. They are your canvas, and the pen is your brush. Through this test, you have the chance to paint a vivid picture of your knowledge and intellectual capabilities.”
Guidora takes a step back, her gaze unwavering. “Embrace the solitude of this room. Let your thoughts flow onto those pages. Think of this as an opportunity to leave an indelible mark, to show your true intellectual prowess.”
With a final nod, she concludes, “Take your time, focus, and give it your best. Good luck.”
“I'd be the best student in the academy if she was my sex ed teacher.” Ahe says. If he was right by me in human form, I could imagine both his arms reaching out, gesturing groping the air.
As I take a seat at the desk, I turn over the stack of papers to reveal the questions. They stare back at me, intimidating and unfamiliar, reminding me of my first exam. These were very specific and tailored for aspiring superheroes, not something a novice like me could answer.
Question 1: “In the event of a hostage situation, where an unknown super-powered individual holds civilians captive, describe the steps a hero should take to ensure minimal casualties.”
Question 2: “If your powers were to suddenly malfunction while apprehending an airborne villain, how would you safely execute an alternative plan of action?”
“Hey Kelvin, I know all the answers to these question but I got a genius idea,” Eli's voice echoed through my head, “What about we get like a 70% on this exam so they don't think you're too smart. We're already probably below average in every test so far, might as well keep it going. If you agree, blink twice.”
I think about it for a second and decide to follow Ahe's decision, there's no harm in being invisible. My eyes flutter twice, then picking up the signal, Ahe starts whispering into my head once again like sweet sweet nectar, “For the first one, start with establishing a perimeter. Then, make an assessment of the villain's powers and open communication lines for negotiation. Slowly work to de-escalate the situation.”
As his whispers guided my pen, Guidora was silently observing me from my side. She was as still as a statue, her gaze unwavering and analytical. Ahe’s whispers continued, his words flowing effortlessly, “For the second question, darling, state that it's essential to quickly assess the new constraints of your powers and surroundings. Maybe make use of nearby objects as makeshift tools to continue the pursuit. Just like improvising when your trusty cock isn't working as expected.”
I stifled a snort at Ahe's comment while trying to maintain a focused expression. My pen was a frenzy on the paper, channeling all the knowledge Ahe imparted into words. I make sure that I answer the next few questions myself, knowing that more than likely I would get them wrong.
Question 7: “When facing a shape-shifting adversary who has assumed the form of a loved one, how does a hero maintain their emotional composure to execute their duty effectively?”
Ahe whispered, “Distance yourself emotionally, recognize that it's not your loved one but an adversary manipulating your emotions. Like when you think you've found the perfect pussy, but it’s just a mirage.”
A couple more questions later, combined with Ahe's help and my unfeigned ignorance, we managed to create our perfect creation.
I glanced at Guidora, who silently pointed toward the door. I handed over my papers and made my way out. Her stoic face gave nothing away, and I left without knowing my score, heading to the last room down the hallway.
