You can't do it.

The thought isn't easy to dismiss, but you can't do it. It would be one thing if you had to kill the creature, but defenseless you can't do it. Casting the spell to send things away, you are happy to see you don't actually need to recall the other things first. Then looking around you decide before you go through the big heavy door you should try your hand with one of the heavy bows. Sadly you can't pull it back despite how strong you are. “Damn. A weapon would be nice.” Looking at your claws and fangs doesn't inspire much more hope either.

Quietly you pull the door open, expecting the worst. The door leads to a spiral staircase that climbs up to the right and down to the left. Looking at the gem on your wrist, you know down is the portal, and it is close. Clomping down the stairs isn't exactly sneaky, and for a second you decide to regrow your bat wings, as quick as you make them you let them fall away as the staircase is far to narrow to use wings. To further the disguise you decide to grow a spiky tail instead, as you do, your body apparently decides to hunch over a bit more, and almost bestial now, you once again head down the stairs. Each door you pass as you go down tempts you to open it, but you are not supremely confident enough in your abilities to stick your nose where it doesn't need to be. Then a sound of many cloven feet begin to rise from below. By the sound of it, you are pretty sure it is at least 4 and by the scraping sounds, you think each one must nearly fill the width of the hall. “Shit.” You whisper your mind racing, seeing really only three options, fight or bluff your way past whatever is coming up, duck into the last room you passed, or simply run like hell back up.
