As Hinata was silently reasoning with herself, Naruto sat up with his back to Hinata, wondering what on earth hit him. Making up her mind, Hinata decided to run back home and get dressed again. She couldn't let Naruto, or anyone, see her like this. No matter what. She would never live it down. Meanwhile, behind her, Naruto made a sound as he lifted himself off the ground. Hinata's breath left her and her body went cold. She was right behind Naruto Uzamaki, her lifelong crush, and she was stark naked. Naruto only had to turn around, and her humiliating fate would be sealed.

As if he could hear her thoughts, Naruto quickly turned around, expecting to see the person or animal that had run into him, onto to find an empty street.

Hinata breathed a deep breath of relief, she had never moved so fast in her life! If she had waited half a second longer, Naruto would have seen her in all her naked glory. She sat crouched behind someone's chimney, cupping her breasts in a protective manner and breathing hard.

After a minute of regaining her breath, Hinata chanced a peek back at Naruto and stifled a gasp. The boy was looking around, likely for Hinata. Naruto left the street they had collided on and went into the small alleyway Hinata had run from. He paused for a second and bent down to pick up something Hinata couldn't see. When Naruto did resurface, he was holding something that made Hinata's face flood with a hot blush: her freshly ripped panties. He was examining them when he stopped suddenly and stared directly at the chimney Hinata was hiding behind, as if he could trace the smell from the undergarments back to their flustered owner and hear how hard and fast her heart was beating. After a minute, however, Naruto seemed to decide he had imagined whatever he saw, pocketed her panties, and jumped away toward the ramen shop.

Hinata was relived he hadn't found her, but then felt a stabbing shame at how Naruto now owned a pair of her panties, then Hinata felt a wave of regret wash over her at the fact Naruto was going to ramen without her. For a moment, Hinata considered chasing after Naruto and attending dinner with him, regardless of her nudity. Hinata actually stood up and took a step after him, before coming to her senses and re-cowering behind the chimney.

Whenever she would think back to today, Hinata could never remember how long she spent on that rooftop gathering the courage to streak Konoha on her mad dash home. She knew what she had to do, but she was having a hell of a time convincing her body to move from the safety of the stranger's chimney. Eventually she managed to stand up, covered up her privates, took a stiff step forward, and before she knew what was happening, Hinata was rushing from rooftop to rooftop. She paused every once in a while to hide and nearly had a panic attack at every small noise. Twice Hinata was close to slipping off a particularly slippery roof and she almost ran into a fellow Shinobi who was also using the rooftops.

Though it felt like eternity to Hinata, it didn't take long for Hinata to get back to the Hyūga compound. Hinata could see her house, a big fancy one in the middle with high walls and reinforced doors, and hoped her father hadn't noticed she had gone and her bedroom window would still be open. Hinata then had a horrible thought; she was now in the heart of a place where people can see through walls, so she couldn't hide behind much to hide her naked shame. Quite uncharacteristically, Hinata decided not to let this bother her too much and just hope no one was using the Byakugan. She made sure her hands were covering the important bits and leaped into action.
