Preparations

Kate called out to him from the hall. "Dan, I'm going to lunch with Becka". Fresh out of the shower he came up to her dressed only in briefs. "Already? I thought you had another hour before you'd go?" he asked. "I know but she texted me that her appointment got cancelled and asked if we could meet up early".

He came up closer to her. He placed a finger on and raised her chin as he leaned in for a kiss. Their lips remained locked for what seemed to be several minutes though in reality it had only been a few seconds. Looking up at him with her doe-like eyes she said "Love you" before she turned to leave. "I love you too".

Reaching their car Kate looked back at Daniel who still stood at the door. He waved at her playfully while making dumb faces. She laughed and told him "Go back inside before anyone sees you and gets the wrong idea, dummy!" He chuckled at her response. "Tell Becks I said hi".

Once clothed Daniel looked over the mess in their house. Though he wanted everything at work to be in order he couldn't muster the willpower to keep their home tidy. Bills, both paid and not, laying around in a mess on the hallway sideboard, the mountain of dirty dishes and more. He cursed himself under his breath. "Guess I'd better get started".

He began with sorting the bills and paying the ones that were unpaid. He went on to vacuum the house and gathering all dirty clothes in the laundry room. The dishes were last. He absolutely hated cleaning but washing the dishes simply took the cake.

It took most of the day but he had done it! The place looked just like new. "I might need another shower" he joked.
