Hinata swallowed as the two naked boys slid down next to Naruto in the spring, with the three naturally and almost subconsciously moving so that they still left a gap between them and the girls. With the two new boys added, though, the gap was now so small that she could almost feel the body heat from the nearest boy. Who just had to be Naruto, of course. She wasn't sure if that was due to her general bad luck, or due to the other two boys wanting to be nearer to the naked Sakura. She never even thought of the possibility that they'd know of her crush and had done it for her sake.

It wasn't a very wide pool of water, with many of the other, less secluded springs in the fenced-off area being far larger. With the extra bodies, and especially the broad-bodied Choji, the gap between the boys and the girls had seriously narrowed. She found herself existing in a fully embarrassed state of half-feeling like she was about to faint from being so dangerously close to being naked in front of this many boys and half-terrified of actually fainting and having her towel opening when she lost her grip in her unconscious state. Mixed in with that was another, mathematically impossible third half of embarrassment from seeing two naked boys and their uncovered genitals. The only thing that saved this from being worse (besides losing her towel) was that Naruto was thankfully still covered. With her body awakened from Sakura's unexpected and unexpectedly not unwanted assault, she wasn't sure she could handle seeing any more of him than she already had.

Naruto, completely oblivious to the covert glances from the dark-haired girl to his right, and never being one to keep quiet, asked a question that had been on his mind, “So if you two have clan baths, then why are you here?”

Shikamaru turned his head from Sakura, who was only half-a-body-length to his left, to Naruto, who was on the other side of him past the bulk of Choji. The spring was sufficiently small and curved that he could still mostly see the loudmouthed boy despite the larger boy being in the way. “My clan doesn't have a big bath, only Choji's does. And any time I go over there I have to put up with people feeding me until I feel like I'm going to puke to 'put some meat on my bones'. I also have to fend off all of Choji's distant aunts trying to match-make me with their daughters. It's way too much hassle.”

Choji chuckled, as this was a joke they'd shared between them for a while. “What do you expect to happen? You're all skin and bones!”

The others glanced over at Shikamaru, who was a bit thin. But not dangerously so. Then again, Choji's Akimichi family all relied on their clan techniques to convert fat into chakra, so everyone had some extra padding in his extended household. A 'thin' Akimichi by their standards would be considered a 'plump' person in any other group.

Perhaps this was why Choji was currently running into a bit of a problem as the spring's occupants settled into bathing for a bit. Every time he looked at Shikamaru to talk to him, his eyes passed Sakura on the way. Even when he was looking at his best friend, his peripheral vision kept the nearby pinkette in partial view. If he was in his clan's baths, with his various female cousins and aunts, this wouldn't be a problem. He was so used to them that he wouldn't even register the bare bodies of his female family.

But Sakura was so very different to his cousins. The pink hair, so rare in general and in this village so unique to her for that particular shade of it, was an obvious eye-puller. Those green eyes, also an unusual shade in the village. But he'd seen both of those plenty of times before and not been drawn in. What he hadn't seen until now was her unclothed body. It was so thin! Thinner even than Shikamaru's! He could probably encircle her waist with his hands! And her breasts: small, budding, only the size of apricots – maybe a little bit bigger. Nothing like the large melons that were usual in his family (crueler people might say that it was usual in both the women and men of his family). For a brief moment he wondered if Sakura's breasts would be as delicate to the touch as they looked.

Choji's eyes widened and he glanced down as his penis started to stiffen. That had never happened before in any of his previous shared baths at home! He needed a distraction, and quickly.

With Sakura not even blinking an eye at the obvious looks the boys were giving her bare body, her unexpectedly blasé attitude to her own nudity in front of even someone like Naruto meant that the Nara boy was currently uncertain on what could actually provoke her enough to become a distraction. That meant that she was out. So he had two choices for a distraction. He could go with the easy option of saying something to the easily flustered Hinata to make her the center of attention, but even he would feel a little bad about kicking that particular puppy. Plus, Sakura might genuinely kill him based on female solidarity alone if he said anything too shocking to the Hyūga girl.

On the other hand, while Naruto had occasionally joined him in skipping school during their Academy days, and therefore was somewhat of a friend, he was generally annoying enough to both act as a big distraction and not make Shikamaru feel guilty about using him as such. On the other hand, everyone was used to Naruto being annoying, and so any distraction he provided might be over quickly as it was usually easier to ignore him than indulge him.
