Thursday Pt 4 Return to Rein Corp

"Huh... I guess she's not working today."

"Something wrong, Boss?" Aiya asked.

Walt shook his head. "Not really... just looking to see if a friend was working today or not. She's usually working the gate but maybe she's inside or has the day off today."

"Oh!" Said Soma. "Are you looking for a pretty young girl, pops? You'll make the girl youre with jealous. "

Walt laughed and Aiya scolded Soma. "He's the "Boss" now, Soma and watch your tongue!"

Walt still chuckled. "It's fine! And other her being pretty and young you're way off base, Soma! She's a friend of mine. We laugh at each other's jokes and she's in a relationship with a young friend of mine! Maybe they're out together though... I hope so though I'd imagine he's busy right now."

He looked at Aiya. "Rein Corp isn't a bad place... but you never really know what you're going to see. It's totally up to you but-"

"I'll wait in the truck, thanks," she said turning to Soma. "Good luck. I hope that they can help you. Both of you." She smiled at Raven.

Raven gave her a smile back saying, "Thank you." She was feeling nervous but trying not to let it show.

Soma though just flashed her a grin and gave her a thumbs-up.

Walt set Friday up to provide Aiya with some entertainment. He told her that someone from 3S would be picking her and Soma up. When Raven got changed she would probably need to go shopping after.

Raven smiled thinking about the girls earlier. "You mean we're going out after this, Walt? Like a date?"

Walt coughed. "What?" He looked into her eyes and gulped. "That wasn't my intention but If that makes you happy, Rae, I'd like that too?"

She smiled slightly. "65 points," she said turning away.

"Out of a hundred?" Walt asked. She didn't answer. Soma whistled.

They entered the Rein Corp facility huddled under the umbrella. Walt signed themselves in, just like they had checked in at the gate, and picked up their badges.

The person working front desk/check in looked at Zwei then Walt. "Sorry, sir. No pets."

Walt looked at him and said, "He's a service dog. I suffer from can'tgetadateitis. Without him I have to I have to rely on my charm, wit and good looks to get girls to talk to me. All of which nature has left me lacking in obviously."

Soma nodded his head while Raven sighed and played along and deadpanned. "It's true. I wouldn't be here without this dog. I still can't believe how effective it is. Aaaaah..."

The guys about to say something when a King Shark from Harley Quinn escorting a man in a suit out comes over. "Oh, Hi there, Walt!" He turns to the man handing him his card. "If James or you have any union questions Llewellyn, don't hesitate to call."

Walt waved to Llewellyn the Gardner family lawyer who waved back. Then he grinned and slapped King Shark fingers/fin. "Good to see you, King! They got you handling front desk security now?"

"They most certainly do but it's only temporary. I still manly work IT and union representation." He looked at the list than the other guy. "The "dog" isn't a "dog", it's a registered character named Zwei, Carl. And he's already been checked in by Mr Stark and has an adorable visitor's pass waiting for him." King clipped the pass that included his name and other info while stating "I'm a good boy!" onto Zwei's collar for him.

"Arf!" Said Zwei enthusiasticly.

King Shark grinned. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Zwei! I'm sorry about, Carl. He's new."

"Bark, Bark!"

"I agree," said Walt nodding. "You're looking good big guy!"

"Thank you, Zwei, Walt!" King Shark grinned. "I have lost weight! I'm down 20 lbs on the new diet Clawhauser and I started. How nice of you to say!"

The local manager came down to greet them, offer them the tour and everything else but Walt passed. "Unfortunately this isn't my usual visit, we're here for a consultation and maybe some undoing modifications or chronomancy, and things are busy this week..." he glanced around the bustling halls and smirked. "... almost as busy as you all. Though Friday and I might peruse the list afterwards. Today's a business day for 3S and myself personally. I heard about the impressive haul. Congratulations!"

Walt continued to talk shop with the man while Raven holding Zwei and Soma looked around.

It was definitely busy! The place was swarming with characters! Some appeared to work here like the Sharkman while others were definitely being processed. I swarm of little characters being chased by a Pinkie Pie. Some power armor guys escorting two cyclopean, green tentacled aliens with clear helmets on. A bunch of little robot guys wearing hard hats. She noted Walt didn't seem to bat an eye to any of it... except for the green skinned dancer lady. She had to admit everyone stopped to look at her, including Raven.

*That's right,* she idly thought. *With Mission now we have three blue skinned character to only one with green skin, Haruna. Maybe we should...* She shook her head. *Don't get wierd thoughts! We're not here for that and Walt doesn't care about what the others look like, including... myself!" She glanced at him smiling. "Though he's definitely attracted to me... to us! He's attracted to "us"... which includes Manami and Ilulu... and me!"

Zwei whines and she realized she was squeezing him a bit. "Sorry, Zwei." He licked her face.

"Everything ok," Soma asked.

She looked at the young man. "I'm just... having second thoughts I guess?" She glanced at Walt who was still distracted talking to the manager but then took her hand and they all stepped to the side and waited as a bunch of large characters, robots and a locomotive engine passed by.

Soma looked at her holding onto Walt's hand. "I don't think you need to worry about his feelings. He's pretty obviously into you as a person as you are now. Long as you don't change that, I think you'll be just fine, even if you go back to the original recipe!" Soma grins.

Ravens about to say something but the manager is shaking their hand and saying goodbye. They're at their destination.

Entering into the office they see a busy looking man. He looks up and shakes Walt's hand, "Walt. Good to see you."

Walt smiles and returns the handshake while taking a small bottle out if his pocket and hands it to the man. "Good to see you, Bones."

Bones grins and takes the bottle, looking at the label fondly. "You don't have to keep doing this."

Walt shakes his head. "No trouble at all. Until they send you back it's the least that we can do for you. Medicinal purposes, yeah?"

Bones nods his head and puts the bottle in a desk drawer. "So. You need a consultation?" He looks over at Raven, Soma and Zwei. "Not the dog I hope... I'm a doctor, not a veterinarian."

Zwei visibly relaxs at this news and starts happily panting.

Walt chuckles. "No, just these two... I had scheduled for three others who'd been repathed but they elected to keep their changes." Walt shakes his head bitterly. "I don't agree but-"

"But you're not about to force your will on other's that way Walt," said Bones. "I've known you for a while now. You'd do some pretty scary things without batting an eye but you also always bring an old sawbones a thank you bottle for saving a friend's life. You don't generally compromise on the things that are important to you. It's usually one of your better traits. Well let's have a look at the patients!"

Bones walks over to Raven with a device. "Hello there, Miss. I'm Dr McCoy but Walt and friends call me Bones."

Raven smiles and shakes his hand. "Hello, Bones. It's nice to meet you. I'm Rachel Roth but most call me, Raven."

Bones starts to scan her. "It's a pleasure, Raven. And you'd like to have your mods undone?"

She hesitates. "Yes... no. Some of them?"

McCoy blinks and looks at Walt who's just as surprised. He turns back to Raven. "I see. Well there's good news and bad news. The first thing is that Bunnygirl mods are generally as easy to fix as catgirls or any of the others. Even shortstackification is a relatively simple but lengthier procedure in the right hands and facilities."

He calls up a display. "Undoing mods, while sometimes difficult, is usually a simple procedure. Like the layers on a sandwich They're usually built one on top of another. If there's something that needs removal it usually is a simple process. Like taking a piece of lettuce or cheese off if a sandwich."

He sighs. "But "Custom" mods like yours are a little different. They're several different types of mods, mixed together and added simultaneously. They're not layered like a sandwich. They're like trying to take the eggs back out of a cake mix after mixing and the cake has already been baked."

Soma nods. "Anybody can put a sandwich together however they want to, but not everyone can follow a recipe. As a chef I get that."

Raven sighed. "So it's impossible..."

Bones shook his head. "Not at all! We do the impossible all of the time! Best thing about Prime really. It just makes it tricky." My advice is the simplest matter. "Reset using chronomancy and then adding back whatever mods or changes you wanted to keep. It's extremely costly but knowing Walt here he won't even bat an eye!"

Walt nodded. "True. I don't care what it costs if it makes you happy Rae. And to break my personal budget we'd have to come back here everyday for... Friday?"

(("Assuming a reasonable rate of various factors and that you personally earn no more personal capital in the interim... 113 years, 6 months and 13 days."))

"That soon?" Walt asks.

(("You did just aggressively buy into a "cute girls doing cute things" business just this morning, Boss."))

Walt nodded. "Guess, I better find a part-time job after all. Security gaurd was an option duscussed earlier or maybe I can go door to door selling Penny's cookies?"

Everyone laughs as Friday adds. (("Inadvisable. The Girlscout Federation would go to war."))

Walt strokes his beard, "A worthy rival at last... the Penny Scouts... hmmm..."

McCoy shakes his head. "Delusions of grandeur... anyway. That would be my recommendation to you. Which things about your mods do you like?"

Raven blushed and looked at Walt who blinked then nodded his head. "I've got to use the restroom!" He announced heading for the door. "I'll be back!"

Watching him go they chuckled. "He's a pretty good guy," McCoy said. "You're both lucky."

Raven nods. "I'm actually pretty fond of the bunnygirl mod. It feels... good? A-and looking like a bombshell has been pretty nice for my self-esteem. I never had curves like these before. I was always "petite" as well as shortish..."

Bones nods and calls up her "base" info on the screen as well as her new information. "Well why don't you look at this and try playing around with the values until you like what you see? Then we can discuss what mods you'd like after a reset."

She nods and Bones turns to Soma. "Alright, you're next young man." He scans him slowly and carefully.

He makes a face looking at the information. "You're another tough case..."

Soma swallowed. "No good, Doc?"

McCoy shakes his head. "I didn't say that... you were an experiment subject, correct?"

Soma nods. "I don't remember it well... They had a bunch of us hooked up to machines and computers. Trying to record wierd "values" and "factors" and stuff. All I know is after they were done with me my cooking just wasn't the same anymore. It was like they took something away or broke something you know?"

McCoy nodded. "And then you were sold "as is" on the used market?"

Soma nodded. "Aiya and I were working in the Ramen shop for awhile before Walt came with his offer. He ate all my nasty specials! Even stuff I hadn't tried yet! But... I want to get back what I lost if I can! Back to making super delicious food for people!"

McCoy nods. "Without knowing exactly what experiments and procedures were done to you it's hard to make an analysis for fixing you outside of a reset as well. Thankfully 3S already authorized that if it's something you want."

Soma grinned. "You mean I can get my talent back! Just like that! Heck yeah! Let's do it!"

Zwei barks excitedly while Raven smiles. She doesn't know him well but he seems like a nice guy and he's genuinely excited about cooking again. Meanwhile she keeps playing around with the sliders and settings on the tablet thing. She accidentally hit the wrong one and now her "model" is twelve feet tall. She goes to fix it and now it's twelve inches tall.

She sighs and McCoy and Soma glanced over. "You want to be a Gothic fairy, Raven? Pretty interesting!"

She shakes her head. "I goofed and was trying to-"

Zwei hits the "undo" twice with his nose.

Raven looks at him and pats his head. "Thank you."

"Arf!" Zwei told her happily.

Soma looks again. "So... something like that? Isn't that kind of the same to how you are now?"

Raven blushed. "It isn't! I'm just trying stuff out! Stop peaking!"

Her large breasts hit the pad as he tries to keep anyone from seeing, messing up the values and then projecting it onto the big screen. Now there's a display of Raven that's outrageously curvaceous as well as statuesque and leggy. McCoy cleared his throat. "Ah, I think you either hit a Jessica Rabbit model instead of a bunnygirl mod or a bimbo mod..." seeing her blush furiously he's going to take it off the screen when there's a knock at the door and Walt steps in. He freezes seeing the sexy vamp Raven on the screen and then her blushing face. "I... uhh... need to go... wash my hands... again!" Walt leaves and closes the door.

McCoy helpfully says. "Why don't we go get Soma taken care of and leave you to yourself, Raven." He leads Soma out the door as Raven chants under her breath and mashes the undo all button!

They don't come back for awhile. Raven sighs and Zwei looks at her. She gestures to the tablet. "I keep changing it back and forth! Either I look like myself in bunny ears or I look like this!" She puts her head in her hands. "It's like... I started accepting looking like this and now it seems sort of normalish?"

Zwei barks and licks her hand.

She nods and sits up and pats him on the head. "Walt went to all this trouble for me... and now I'm being indecisive!" She shakes her head. "I should just get reset. Have them give me a bunnygirl mod, because I find I kind of like it, and then a standard beauty mod level 2- no, 3?... is 4 too much? I mean 5 would be ridiculous. Those things are bigger than my head! But... and a little shorter isn't "bad". 3 inches isn't even noticeable really. 6 inches?. A foot? Maybe a few more and... and I've essentially made myself the way I am again only using more mods!"

She groaned. "What is wrong with me? I keep thinking about what I used to want to look like! Like Star! But then I think about how cute and sexy Ilulu and Manami can be when they want to be and then Walt and-" She sighed. "I keep making me just a little bit more or less and then that makes me want to settle for me "now" but that's wierd, right?"

She holds Zwei who barks twice. He really didn't see what the problem was. If she wants something just be honest about it. He started licking her face.

Raven giggled. "A lot if help you are mister-"

There's a knock at the door. Not wanting a repeat of last time she hits save and closes the tablet display. "Come in!"

Walt and McCoy come in with a smiling Soma Yukihira saying, "-I get that "now". So wierd to think about it though!"

Raven smiles. "Looks you're happy! I guess the reset was a success?"

Zwei whines and Raven feels something is a little off as Soma turns to her smiling. "Oh. Hi. You must be Raven? I'm Soma. Soma Yukihira! Pleasure to meet you! Cool dog! What's his name? Hiya, pup!"

Raven is stunned and then horrified! "This is... a reset?"

McCoy grins and nods his head. "Complete Reset. Worked like a charm! He's back to his base natural state as if he were brand new taken fresh from his instance. We took him by the small staff kitchen and he's got his ability back! He's as good as..."

Walt can see Raven's upset. "Can we have a moment alone you two?"

McCoy nods and takes Soma with him as they exit. "Sure. It happens sometimes. Come on, young man!"

Walt sighed and sat. "That's what took so long. We had to have him record a "goodbye" message to himself. He shared all the disgusting dishes he came up with with himself and told himself that he chose this option for himself and he wanted to work with 3S. I even showed him one of the videos the girls posted from the otherday."

Raven nodded and patted Zwei. "He's "new". Resetting made him forget... everything. It undid the damage but everything he went through, the friendships and experiences..."

Walt nodded and snapped his fingers. "All gone. I had him talk to Aiya about it before. They said their "good byes". She's a little sad but also happy for him... but they were just work friends..."

Raven gulps. "If I did that... I'd forget everyone too! Ridiculous Ilulu, brave Manami, sweet and kind Penny..." she looked up at Walt.

Walt nodded sadly. "... yup. You'd forget me too, Rae... but if getting you back to normal is-"

"No," Raven said.

Walt shook his head. "Think it over before you-"

"No!" She cried and Walt hugged her. She pounded her fist on his chest crying. "I don't want that! Can't you see! They're important to me already! You're important to me!"

She stopped and sobbed crying. Walt just held her. "You don't have to do or be anything you don't want to, Rae. I won't let anyone make you do anything you don't want to. Including me."

She sniffed. "Now I understand. I didn't get it before Manami was discussing something with Sayoko and Roberta. None of them wanted it but they kept talking about it and it upset Manami everytime. It was "Resetting" wasn't it?"

Walt nodded. "It likely was. I tried to convince them earlier but I dropped it. It... really upset Manami and I feel almost as bad about that as what was done to her. It's wrong to have them that way-"

"No," Raven said. "It is wrong... but fixing that at the price of their memories and the happiness they've found? That's not right either... it doesn't make it right!"

Walt nodded and dried her eyes. "Perhaps not. Two wrongs, don't make a right, they say... but giving you all options and letting you choose for yourselves is the closest thing, I can do. What was done to them is effectively permanent and takes extreme measures. It was the same thing with Soma. For you it's just the most expedient option. You have others. We can get you height mods to make you your original height again. We could change your shape with more mods to whatever you-"

"No," Raven said. "I don't want anymore mods."

Walt nodded. "Ok... Well, I can put down a payment on having them research your custom mod and begin the process of figuring out how to reverse or undo it that way or-"

"No," Raven said.

Walt sighed and held her. "Don't be too hasty, Rae... take sometime. Think over your options. Decide what is best for yourself. You don't need to make a decision about it now, if you don't want to... ok?"

She nodded. "And you're OK with that?"

Walt hugged her tightly. "I'm OK with whatever you want, as long as it makes you happy, Rae."

She smiled though she knew he couldn't see it. "And if I wanted to be a big green, hulking monster?"

Walt chuckled. "That'd be a twist! But if that made you happy I would be perfectly happy with it. I might have to widen a few doorways though."

She chuckles. He really didn't care though. "You're saying you like me, for me... thank you, Walt."

Walt smiled and kissed the top of her head. "That's right. You're very welcome, Rae."

*I like him too,* she thought. "You're still taking me out, right?"

Walt nodded. "Sure. Wherever you want to go."

Walt put down a payment on researching her custom mod anyway. Even if it wasn't something she'd decide upon for herself it would be good research that might benefit someone else down the line and be useful to Rein Corp.

3S had sent a transport to pickup Aiya and Soma as well as the small handful of gems that Walt had found. A Lucious Fox, a Dr Pamela Isly and Honey from Space Dandy. Raven stared at for that last one, especially after she gave Walt a kiss on the cheek.

Walt grinned. "Believe it or not but she's perhaps the smartest and most talented character from her series. Genius IQ, hell of a wrestler and all around superstar. Don't underestimate her. Pamela is a wonderful scientist in her own right will be helpful on things from biochemistry to the Protected Parks Program and Lucious is a heck of an inventor... maybe he can upgrade my Bat Mask!" He winked and Raven rolled her eyes but smirked. "I dare you to take it to him and have him work his magic!"

Walt stuck out his hand. "Done. It'll be his first official project." She shook it and laughed.

He opened the passenger door for her and Zwei then climbing into Silver he looked at her. "You're sure, Rae?"

She looked at Rein Corp and then back to Walt and nodded. "I am... for now. Take me out somewhere."

Walt nodded but he had a thought. "Friday, under ideas for new businesses for the Brights to look into forming I've got another. Add "The Raven's Nest" to the list please?"

Raven rolled her eyes but smiled slightly as Friday said (("Of course, Boss. Emma just responded with placing a bird, book, teacup and black heart emoji's next to your idea."))

They laughed as they exited Rein Corp.
