Edelgard had done some small research. Marianne had a secret Crest, the Crest of Maurice, a hero who the Church had tried to rub out of existence. She, like Edelgard, had been tossed around by the Church's rhetoric, but she was one of the most faithful students here.

Edelgard figured she could give Marianne a confidence boost with her new power, and maybe make her more sexually adventurous and promiscuous as well.
