"Shit." You hissed, pulling Emi and ducking behind a neighbor's fence. Mom had just pulled into your driveway. Because of course she'd show up, just as home was within sight. Maybe heading home wasn't the best idea...

"Nick?"

"Just a sec, Emi. Lemme think." You whispered, biting your lip. You probably could use a window. But that would require sneaking through a few backyards, hoping that your neighbors didn't raise a fuss. Front door? No way. Sure, if Ashley saw you, she'd probably let it slide. But Juniper, or Mom, or Dad? They'd be all "who's this girl's parents?! Leave your door open! Ooooh, lemme show you Nick's baby pictures!" and stuff like that! Ava's house was right across the street, maybe-

"Nick."

"I'm thinking babe. Gimme-"

"I swear... you're cute when you're dumb." Emi sighed, lightly flicking your nose. "Use your powers. It's not hard."

"Oh. Yeah, that could work." You said, forcing out a chuckle. "But I'd rather not mind control my family. And normality would still let them know I had a girlfriend, so... what should I do?" You asked. "You've got Emily's smarts, so you do the thinking. Please?"

"Well..." Emi muttered, her cheeks reddening. "The way I see it, you have two main options. Either use a combination of the two on one of your neighbors instead, or..." She trailed off, pursing her lips. "Do you think you can make me a ghost too? Like how you got into Ava's room?"

"...Probably?" You guessed. "You wanna fly into my room like that?"

"Maybe. Or..." Emi whispered, looking around. "I kinda wanna try possessing someone..."

"Oh. Who? If it's my sisters or Mom, then-"

"It's a secret. But... I won't do it without your permission." Emi answered, a mischievous grin on her face. "It's no one you're related to, don't worry. But we can use their place. Probably."

"So... we either borrow a neighbor's house, sneak in to my house as ghosts, or I let you possess someone and we use their place." You summarized, excited about your choices...
