A wander to a discovery

Jessica composed herself and convinced her mind to stay focused. She only had one goal right now, escape. In complete and utter fear of Cousin Wallace's unpredictability, Jessica refused to try the wooden gate handle again. It was almost guaranteed to trigger another trap that destroy her beauty and dignity even more. As much as she hated it, the journalist was **** to crawl on her hands and knees like the troll she was to be treated as.

She crawled out of the alley and onto the tall green grass. She prowled like a predator and scanned the horizon for any sign of escape. Her first assumption was the fence on the left, as it seemed smaller than the other side. Maybe I could climb over it and call for help? She thought. There did not seem to be any other option, unless she wanted to disobey her captor and venture further into the garden..

Jessica brushed past the tall grass strands that flowed with the breeze, she now had full view of the fence. Her hopes were immediately shattered, as the fence was way higher than it looked when she was sat by the house. Jessica cursed and pounded her fist on the ground, there really was no escape!

Holding back tears, the naked reporter suddenly caught glimpse of something on the fence. Sheets of paper were laminated and stapled to the wooden fence. When Jessica crawled forward to get a closer look, her jaw dropped.

Each sheet displayed a news article that involved her in some way, whether it was on the headline or used a picture of Jessica to support the information. This would not normally worry Jessica, even if it was very strange and uncommon for someone to stick pictures of her everywhere in their back garden.

What did concern Jessica massively was that each article had been written by the DNN's rival company 'Wolf news', a company that fell into bankruptcy three years ago. It was bought by a much larger entertainment company, that made the decision to close it down instead of saving the news channel.

Jessica had a huge history with Wolf news, in fact the entire team of journalists made it their mission to scout on everything she did in case there was something dirty to report. If Jessica was infiltrating a place, chances were a Wolf News journalist would also be there.

Jessica skimmed her eyes along each article, her heart sank further the deeper she read. Each article was written on the day the company went bust; it seemed the journalists of Wolf news made one last attempt to attack Jessica but were never legally able to go through with it.

Each story was about Jessica's misfortunes and mistakes. They all described the victims of her exposures, and how Jessica used lies and rumours to put innocent people she did not like in prison. It was all there on these sheets, the evidence, the proof, the lies she had made. Cousin Wallace had unpublished incriminating evidence against Jessica stapled to a wooden fence in her lower class house in the middle of nowhere!

Jessica clenched her fists angrily, she needed to do something about this immediately!
