Chapter 32
by SingingLark
Will Liandra accept the deal?
Yes
Perhaps the in betweens felt sleazy, but one thing Liandra understood perfectly was that a dying man wished some redemption before he passed away, and she robbed him of his hope. She didn't feel like she could judge whenever he deserved it, she couldn't just condemn him to hell. And she could repent his sins.
The drow merchant led her across the city, into a hospital dedicated to the God of Mercy. He must be really sick if he needed constant care...
Even in peace times the place looked packed with people. The poor and homeless. Liandra went there often, bringing alms and comfort, but it always felt like too little. It was good to know that night she would help even more one of theirs.
But they walked past the hospital. They walked past the cells of the sick. Liandra was confused until the Drow opened the last door, and she walked in the Vicar's room. She was aghast to see the holy man lingering in ****.
"He is the one... he is my client" The drow said, and stepped away, letting the princess and the vicar look at each other. Vicar screamed in terror
"NO! No! Not! They arent supposed to KNOW!" The frail old man mumbled, leaving a dumbstruck princess standing at the door.
"That isn't my problem. The princess drank the potion, so it is either she, or nothing." They argued, and liandra grew afraid. What exactly did he do that was so terrible?
Last chance to back out of the deal...
