What's next?

Eirlys receives a task from the Supreme Priestess

It was a day like any other, Eirlys had been working tirelessly as a healer in the bustling city of Loflen, the capital of Arathia. Her days were filled with tending to the sick and injured, administering medicines, and performing healing spells and there was never a short supply of those in need. As the day drew to a close, Eirlys received an unexpected summons from the Supreme Priestess. It was unusual for her to have any interaction with someone so high so she was understandably nervous. She tried to think of anything she might have done wrong, but couldn't come up with anything.

As she entered the chamber, she saw the Supreme Priestess seated on her throne, her eyes trained on Eirlys. The priestess was a formidable figure, and Eirlys couldn't help but feel a twinge of dread as she approached.

"Eirlys, my child," the Supreme Priestess said, beckoning her closer. "I have called you here to speak with you about a matter of great importance."

Eirlys bowed her head respectfully, trying to keep her nerves in check.

The Supreme Priestess leaned forward in her throne, her eyes fixed on Eirlys.

"There is one particular challenge that we need you to undertake," she said. "One of our initiates has gone missing in the Labyrinth of Laughter, and we fear that she may be in great danger."

Eirlys's eyes widened in surprise. She had heard of the legendary labyrinth, with its ticklish traps and winding halls, but she had never been called upon to navigate its depths before.

"The last we heard, she had joined up with a party to explore the great maze," the priestess continued. "But she has not been heard from in several days, and we fear the worst."

As the weight of the mission settled on her shoulders, Eirlys couldn't help but feel a flicker of doubt. She knew that the labyrinth was full of ticklish traps and tricks, and as someone who was incredibly ticklish herself, she feared that she might not be able to complete the mission.

"Supreme Priestess, I must confess that I am hesitant to undertake this mission," Eirlys said, her voice shaking slightly. "As you know, I am extremely ticklish, and I fear that it may hinder my ability to complete the mission."

The Supreme Priestess regarded Eirlys for a moment, her cold eyes were suddenly filled with a mix of compassion and understanding.

"I am aware of your ticklishness, my child," she said. "But I assure you that you were chosen for this mission because of your unique skills and strengths, not in spite of them."

Eirlys's brow furrowed as the priestess continued.

"It is said that the labyrinth itself is sentient, and that it chooses who it allows to enter based on their level of ticklishness. Those who are not ticklish are simply unable to enter its chambers. Not only that, but your strong kindness and endurance for working long hours even when the others give up will serve you well in this task."

"I understand, Supreme Priestess," she said, her voice steadier now, "I will do my best to carry out this mission."

"Before you embark on this journey, there is one more thing I would like to share with you, Eirlys," the Supreme Priestess said, her voice softening. "Prepare well, for the journey is fraught with peril. The library contains much knowledge on things past and present, perhaps you can find some useful morsel there. There are those in our order who have braved the Labyrinth and returned, their advice is worth much. It may also be wise to gather some party members."

An amused smile played on the priestess' lips "And finally, toughening yourself against all forms of tickling is a good idea. I'm sure you'll find many who are willing to help with that."

Eirlys nodded solemnly, taking in the priestess's words.

"I will keep that in mind, Supreme Priestess," she said. "Thank you for your guidance and wisdom."

"I have faith in you, Eirlys," she said. "May the blessings of the gods go with you on your journey."

What does Eirlys do now?
