Keep it cool

"So Neo, you don't talk?" He asks

Neo gave him a big, toothy smile and shook her head.

"You... Can't talk? Or you won't talk?"

She simply gave him a look as if to say 'seriously?'.

"Oh right.. uh... You can't talk?"

She simply smiled at him and shrugged playfully. She definitely had a bit of sass to her, that was certain. But honestly Jaune was stumped at this juncture... Especially with how Neo seemed to be eyeing him up. Almost like she was analyzing him. He wondered if maybe it had to do with the note not working on Emerald? And that brought up another issue. It seemed this whole team was immune to the note - at least in some respects. Was Neo immune too? Could he make her into his slave? Or would she be... Restricted, like Emerald.

There was only one way to find out, but he was smart enough not to risk whipping the book out in front of them both. The last thing he wanted was people immune to the book to become suspicious. He'd have to play things cool for now.

"Well, I think we were planning to head back after our ice cream" Jaune said "but with Neo here... How about we make this a three person date?"

"D-date?!" Emerald yelped, her cheeks darkening. Neo immediately jumped on that, putting an arm around Emerald and mimicking a sort of lovey eyelash batting.

"I-its not like that! C-come on Jaune! Tell her it was a joke!"

Jaune smirked

"I dunno. That blush tells me you don't want me to really say that."

"Jaune!" She protested weakly.

"So Neo, whaddya say? I hear there's a pretty good arcade nearby. You a fan of games?"

Neo let out a silent, mischievous giggle before pumping her fist in the air.

"Alright! In that case, let me just hit the head, and we'll get going."

Jaune made his way to a public restroom and quickly locked himself in a stall. He needed to figure out *something* with Neo. He took the Notebook from his backpack.

"Trivia Vanille, right? That's her real name?" He mused, before putting pen to paper.
