Meanwhile, Ozpin's suspicions...

(Another little side branch that's "canon" to the one Mind Collector and I are working on, this time from Ozpin's perspective. He's still rereading in order to catch up and refresh himself, so I figured I'd do this while waiting.)

Ozpin sat in his office for some time, mulling over some thoughts. In front of him were transcripts... Specifically, faked transcripts. Well faked ones, admittedly, but Ozpin could see through them from a mile away. "Mr. Arc... Who exactly are you?" he muttered to himself.

The transcripts by themselves were nothing to get Ozpin suspicious. After all, all sorts of people had tried to fake their way into Beacon before. However, due to Jaune's family line, Ozpin had looked the other way. He had been curious to see if there was any latent potential in Jaune Arc. If there was, then he would allow him to stay in Beacon to nurture it, the false transcripts water under the bridge. It would not do to let potential go to waste in a time and world it was sorely needed after all.

But even so... What Ozpin saw from the Arc boy's performance stunned him. Despite being a bit on the bumbling side, he had shown incredible strength and swordplay, as well as a fine tactical mind. Not to mention the times he had wiped the floor with Cardin. Even without his Aura awakened, much less his Semblance, he had the ability to do well in Beacon. Which begged the question... Why did he feel the need to fake his transcripts in the first place? Unless incompetence wasn't what he was trying to hide...

He looked over reports he had set aside as he tried to puzzle these things out. During the first test in the Emerald Forest, three girls, Yang Xiao Long, Weiss Shnee, and Pyrrha Nikos had all ended up naked due to an amateur mistake of not using their Auras to protect their clothing. That had happened a time or two before, though not to the extent of full nudity, and if any one of them, even Ms. Nikos, despite her skill, had done so, it would not have raised any eyebrows, mistakes happened to the best of people after all, but three in the midst of one test? No, something else was going on there.

Then there were the noise complaints from Team JNBY's dorm. Noises he knew full well the cause of. Jaune could not have known any of the girls on his team for long, but Glynda had already informed him that he was in a relationship with Ms. Xiao Long that had already gotten physical. That raised an eyebrow, but fast romances were hardly the most suspicious thing that Ozpin had ever dealt with, but then there was the strange affinity Mr. Arc seemed to have with the girls of Beacon. Indeed, he had already been seen leaving campus with one of the exchange students, one Emerald Sustrai. And over the previous semester, many of the female student body had been seen on the surveillance cameras heading for the JNBY dorm. Or Jaune for their dorms.

He also noted that Jaune tended to stay after class in Celestia's classroom, as well as Glynda's. While it wasn't out of the ordinary for students to stay after class from time to time, he only seemed to do so so regularly with those two, and hardly with Professors Port and Oobleck, and usually only when they asked for him to stay after.

All in all, nothing that raised too many concerns with the ancient man on their own... But all together, made up a massive red flag that he intended to get to the bottom of.
