Team RWBY and the Forbidden Vault

(the following takes place in an alternate timeline diverging at a point during the time skip in the middle of Volume 7)

As the doors slid open, loud screechy noises could be heard as metal grind against metal, emphasizing the aging of the doors, as if the bits of rust wasn't enough. Weapons were at the ready, trained in different directions in preparation of any Grimm attracted by the noise; thankfully, none came. With the doors open, the weapons were then pointed at the now open door, Team RWBY being ready for whatever comes out.

"Um..." Blake wonder's, "isn't the vault supposed to have no one in it?"

Everyone realizes how jumpy everyone has gotten, and decides to lower their weapons. "Well, duh," said Yang, "but there's a chance for some robot defenses in there ready to attack intruders, right?"

"Didn't General Ironwood say there wasn't much of a need for them considering it's been so well hidden all these year?"

"... Right." Yang smiled.

"We're all just a little jumpy today," Ruby said, "I mean, the General gave us such an important job to do here."

Each of the members of Team RWBY thought back to a few hours ago, when General Ironwood personally briefed them on where they were going, and what needed to be done. Ozpin, the headmaster of the now defunct Beacon Academy, had spent much of his life, as well as his previous lives, collecting a variety of artifacts that he deemed dangerous, or too much of a risk, to the outside world, and personally hid them all in a massive, underground, vault-like complex deep in the frozen wastes outside of Mantle. The defense of this vault was entrusted to Ironwood, who despite having never set foot in the vault itself, had taken great lengths to ensure it remained hidden from prying eyes for years, just as his predecessors have. With the threat of Salem and the Grimm becoming more and more dangerous by the day, Ironwood decided that now was the time to harness the vault's power, and decides to entrust this task to Team RWBY.

"Well team," Ruby said, "here we go."

As the girls walked down the long tunnel, going far beneath the surface, several lights flicked on, showing the particles of dust (regular dust, not elemental) floating in the stale air, which upset Blake's faunus senses, causing her to sneeze.

"Bless you," said Weiss, "you'd think there'd be at least one robot, or something, to keep the place clean. *achoo*"

"What do you expect, Weiss?" Yang said, "It's a secret vault, in the middle of nowhere, that's rarely ever visited, not a swanky manor that's so tidy and isn't full of dust that can make you 'Schneeze'... huh, :D, huh, :D?"

Ruby couldn't help but snicker while Blake facepalms, and Weiss scowls, at Yang's pun.

Eventually, the girls reach the bottom of the steps at the end of the tunnel, revealing a site to behold. Before them was a massive, lobby-like room, with multiple floors above, and below them, with rows of shelves and displays containing a variety of items, including books, armor, and of course, weapons. The sight of so many weapons, swords, hammers, axes, rifles, shotguns, etc., made Ruby Rose feel like she had entered a sort of heaven at the sight of so many weapons, she felt like she was about to pass out from sheer excitement.

The others notice. "Uh, not to rush, or anything," said Weiss, "but we should get a move on. Ruby looks like she's about to foam at the mouth from all of this."

"Where do we even start?" Blake asked, "There's so much more here than I thought. We could be here for days looking through all of this."

"Well the General want's us to pick up whatever we can carry out of here," said Weiss, "according to him, Headmaster Ozpin left some sort of note, or audio log by each artifact to explain what they did, and why he thought it was dangerous."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Yang said excitedly, "Let's go pick something awesome."

"AWESOME WEAPONS, HERE! I! COME!" Ruby yell in excitement before speeding away into the vault's depths, the rest of her team following from behind.
