A small house in a forest

You walk out your house surrounded by luscious green trees. You know that if you keep going north, you'll end up deep in the forest. And to the east, there is a cave that you never explored. The west leads into the plains, but that area is claimed by something. And to the south, leads to a lake area. Although they start leading out like that, you never know where you'll end up if you keep going that way.
