Green With Envy (TF)

Juliet climbed out of Mike's car; she was sure to take a quick second to straighten her outfit and fan out her hair while he got out and rounded the front of the car to her side. The pair were in the center of Dartwin; the city's nightlife was extremely different from Greenwall, bustling with people on all corners of the city streets. She waited patiently for Mike to climb out of the car and swing around the front to her, where she greeted him with a warm, still excited smile. "Sorry that movie was such a bore; I had no idea, I swear," She apologized as Mike wrapped his arm around hers and began to lead her up the street,

"It's alright, just wasn't really my thing," Mike softly chuckled back, "You don't mind the change in the plan any, do you?"

Despite actually having wanted to see that movie that had initially planned on for this date, Juliet did her best to remain unbothered. Even if Mike wasn't going to be her be all end all when it came to guys, she needed him right now. Her whole life was starting to feel flipped, her friend was dating Kenny, Sydney was calling her overly judgmental like Ava, and worse yet, she might have been developing feelings for Brian White! It was too much, Mike was going to fix that, he was a fitting choice; a proper choice for a girl like her, and he'd get rid of any concerns over Brian, Juliet knew it.

"It's totally fine, I'm excited to go to..." Juliet let out a small hum, "What was this place called again?"

"Ice Climber." Mike replied, "It's the best place to go for people our age, they serve college kids all the time, so they don't even check the ID's. We can get something to eat, a few drinks, listen to some good music. It'll be fun." Juliet's felt a bit of an uncomfortable twist in her stomach, and it reflected on her face, "You alright?"

"Yeah...I just -- I might pass on the drinks," She replied, "Last time I drank too much I ended up..." She immediately flashed back to that evening with Brian in the lodge's rec-room. "Embarrassing myself." The cheerleaders cheeks turned a light shade of pink.

"Juliet, I don't think there is a thing you could do that would bother me. You're amazing, I wouldn't worry to much about trying to impress. Just have fun with me tonight, that's what it's all about." Mike easily replied and Juliet had to admit, that did give her a bit of relief,

"Yeah, you're right, this is about having fun." The duo made their way up the road a bit further and reached a building with a bright neon sign that was in the shape of a climbers pick. Mike lead Juliet through the door and inside she was surprised to find the small bar more than bustling. Mike wasn't lying when he told her about the bar never seeming to check ID's as Juliet spotted more than a few familiar faces from school at the tables, drinks in hand, all having a good time.

Juliet gave Mike's arm a short tug, halting their walk and having him turn back to her, "I just need to run to the rest room, so I'll be right back."

"No problem, I'll be right there at that corner table." Mike pointed across the room and Juliet gave a nod as they separated.

Juliet disappeared into the bathroom and took in a slow breath, calming her nerves. She knew this wasn't an out of the ordinary experience to have on a first date, but this wasn't the kind of first date she was prepared for. She was just supposed to see a movie with Mike, and somehow this felt like they were hitting the gas way more than she anticipated. Nevertheless, Juliet wasn't going to let such minor concerns get her down, so she freshened up in the mirror and thought of a game plan. "We eat, share a single drink, and then he takes me home. I give him a kiss goodnight if he can prove to me that he's earned one, and then we think about a second date. A date in which I decide what we do and he actually goes along with it." She confidently said aloud, staring at herself in the mirror until she ended with a confident smile.

Heading back into the bar, Juliet moved with her natural confidence back towards their table, but she all but stumbled as she took a glance at the actual bar, spotting Brian sitting at it. The brunette's eyes flared and she went on total auto pilot as she diverted course from the corner table, and right over to the blonde teen. Brian was simply taking a sip from his own drink, but his ears perked as he heard two hard steps from behind him. He raised a brow and slowly turned his head back only to find Juliet huffing as she glared at him, arms crossed. "Julie?"

"What the fuck are you doing here, Brian?" She spat out and the teen spun around on the stool to face her fully,

"Having a drink?" Brian tilted his head, "What are you doing all the way out in Dartwin?"

"Oh don't fucking play innocent with me, White. You know exactly what I'm doing here." Juliet snapped back,

"I really don't."

"Right, it's only coincidence that you happen to show up at the exact place that I'm having a date. Do you think I'm fucking stupid you creep?! How did you even know I was going out with Mike, huh? Did you follow us all the way here?"

"Julie, I only knew you were going to go see a movie with that dude because I ran into him and he told me. But that's what I knew, a movie. So I drove out to Dartwin. You can as the bartender, I've been here for almost an hour. I had no fucking clue you'd come all the way out here." Brian's eyes then slightly narrowed, "Let me guess, this was Mike's idea though, huh?"

"Shut up, don't even dare to start acting like you know what's best for me. I don't want to hear the fable you love to tell that he's an asshole. Mike's a better guy then you could ever hope to be, and I'm not buying this little story for a second. What are you really doing here?"

"You're like really intense." Juliet's ears perked and she slightly jumped from the sudden voice behind her. Looking over she found herself looking at Gwen Pace; her deep green hair beautifully curled and hanging down over a more than provactive dress. The heiress gave Juliet a small smirk and moved past her taking a seat next to Brian, "We're sharing a drink, if you wanted to join us. You kinda sound like you could use it."

Juliet blue eyes flicked between the two and her angry faded, being quickly replaced by clear discomfort, "Oh...you're on a date too?"

Brian gave a slight shrug and Gwen giggled, "Yeah, no, we don't really date. Brian and I...hang out, on occasion. It's usually good for us to clear out heads, talk about similar bullshit...have a night in the hotel." She added on with a slight wink. Juliet's eye slightly twitched and she looked away from Gwen, "But you're on a date? Cool, who with?"

"Mike Frost." Brian answered and Gwen let out a hum, taking a sip of her drink. There was a long few moments of lingering silence, "Julie, we --"

"I'm sorry I came storming over like that, I had the wrong idea," The brunette swiftly cut him off while backing away, "I'm just gonna go." Juliet pressed her tongue against her inner cheek, "Enjoy your night." She **** out before stomping off while Brian sympathetically watched her leave before turning back around as well.

Juliet made her way over to Mike and slid down into a chair, immediately grabbing a small black menu and opening it, "You know what, I really could use a drink, Mike. What's the best one here?"

"Oh yeah? Here let me surprise you." Mike happily replied, not seeming to take notice of Juliet's sudden shift in emotions. He only got up and headed over to the bartender to get them their drink.

All the while, Juliet sat stewing, her chest oddly tightened up with anger. She rhythmically tapped her finger on the table as she waited until she finally turned her head, shooting daggers into Gwen as she and Brian sat at the bar talking and laughing with one another.
