What was the problem?
She can't find her purse
The waiter stood expectantly behind and to the side of Dana's seat, waiting for the payment. She reached around to the back of her chair, where she had hung her purse at the start of the evening. Her hands felt nothing but air. She tried looking around her - on the table, under her seat, beside her - without success.
Her purse wasn't there anymore! Somehow, her situation had become even worse. She had lost not only her clothes, but also her purse. It had not just her money, but her ID, her apartment keys - without it, she had nothing. She had no way to pay.
"U-um, I'm sorry.", she stammered nervously. "I-I can't seem to find my purse."
The waiter raised an eyebrow. "Perhaps someone at the table can pay for you?", he offered.
Dana looked at the others at the table, her eyes pleading.
