On the subway home

The subway was completely packed, and Claire was sandwiched between 3 different people, all having their backs to her, at least.

Her heart was still pounding, it hadn’t stopped when she said bye to Mel at the station or in the past 10 minutes in the subway. She was sweating bullets, as if the fire of the explosion was still there to heat her up.

She just wanted to go home and take a shower, but the metro still had 15 minutes until her station, and then another 5 minute walk to the apartment.

Slowly but surely, all the heat in her body started to move, and it felt really, really wrong. Claire grew more nervous by the minute. What was happening? All the heat was concentrating in 1 spot…
