Can the Academy gang lift his spirits?
Last Night of Freedom
“Oh, my God! It’s still the very first day and I’m already sneaking out with the cool kids to get in trouble. This year is going to be fabulous. Someone please pinch me, so I know I’m not dreaming... OUCH!” Chelsea recoiled her arm as she looked over at a less than-enthused Alicia who simply shrugged her shoulders at her. A minor stinging on her arm wasn’t nearly enough to settle down the excited girl who skipped more than walked as they tried to carefully cross the property.
“Do you not understand the concept of sneaking, like at all?”
“Oh totally!” Chelsea said now crouching and glancing from side to side as she ducked for cover behind every object in their path.
Why do I even bother? “Yeah, that looks far less suspicious than before. You’re a regular James Bond.”
“The name is Bond… Jane Bond.” Chelsea said with a giggle as she now held her hands in the shape of a pistol. It took all of Alicia’s energy to only shake her head and try her best to focus on their destination. The dark-skinned girl couldn’t be more relieved when she saw Scotty, Alex, and Drew waiting at the assigned spot. Alicia never expected herself to be this happy to see the guys but move-in day is proving to be quite unpredictable.
“Oh crap! Are we late?” Chelsea nearly shouted as all four shushed her. Drew’s head dropped as Scotty was enjoying the girl’s presence more and more by the moment.
“Follow me, ladies. It’s almost time for the evening festivities.” Alex said with a smile. Chelsea was still bursting with anticipation as she nearly **** Alicia along by the hand. It only took a couple of minutes until they reached their real destination.
“Whoa! What is this place?” Chelsea blurted out in curiosity.
“It’s the old greenhouse. It’s been pretty much left empty or for storage for the last couple of years. We uh kind of pay the groundskeeper to take care of the place and turn a blind eye now and again.” Scotty boasted. It didn’t take him long at all freshman year to scope out the secret clubhouse of sorts. It was a refuge for some of the boys.
“Well, I love it regardless. So, what is there to do? Did anyone bring any cards or anything? Maybe a get-to-know-each-other game?” Chelsea asked.
Scotty snickered and patted the girl on top of her head. “She’s so innocent. It’s adorable.” With that, Scotty sat down the heavy bag he’d been toting and unzipped it to reveal all the makings of a bar inside. He started pulling out different types of liquor and passing them around. He also tossed a few cold beers to each of the waiting teens. “Alex, where’s the soda and cups?”
“I thought you had everything dude?”
“I clearly stated that I’m bringing the booze and for you to grab the rest. Why the hell do you have a backpack then.”
Alex gave a clever smile as he unzipped his bag to reveal a small ukulele. Scotty nearly came unglued, as Chelsea clapped loudly to see someone else in the group has a passion for music.
“Whoa live music too? You’re a genius, Alex!” Chelsea cheered the guy on who blushed slightly at the compliment.
“I don’t think he’s ever heard that sentence directed his way before. Pass me a beer, Murphy.” Alicia snarked to Drew who grabbed two beers and handed one to the waiting girl.
“I knew you idiots would forget something.” Drew shook his head with a laugh as he unzipped his backpack and passed a couple of bottles of soda and juice around. “We’re out of luck on cups but I think we can make do.”
Each teen grabbed a beverage of choice and got ready for a toast, Even Chelsea who has rarely ever touched the stuff. She wouldn’t dare tell that to the rest of the bunch as she was so happy to be finding a group so soon.
“Wait! We can’t just drink without a reason! Everyone should give a toast. We can pass a bottle around and make it special.” Chelsea announced to the others who seemed to need a lot less reasoning to partake in some beverages.
“Well, I’m toasting to this being the first of many parties this year to meet some great new friends like Chelsea here and to leave our legacy on the school for the rest of time!” Alex took a strong swig of a bottle before smacking his lips and giving a jolting shake of his head to wash it down. “You’re up Scotty.”
“I mean I was just going to say, here’s to getting the most Ass…” Scotty was boasting before catching the judgmental look from Alicia and a possibly disappointing one from Chelsea as well. “…essments. The most positive assessments from our teachers of course. It looks great on college transcripts.” He did little to redeem himself in the eyes of Drew or Alicia, but Chelsea at least seemed to buy his cover at least. Scotty tipped the bottle back hard with several gulps before Drew had to pry it from his hands.
“I’m not carrying your drunk ass back to the dorms!” Drew warned before taking a glance at the bottle and raising it to the sky. “Here’s to getting away from my damn house until the holidays.” The boos and thumbs down he received let him know that he needed to try a bit harder. “Alright geez. Here’s to impressing the scouts and getting to dribble a ball for at least four more years at college.” Drew tipped it back and took a mouthful down before reaching for a mixer to wash it down. He was no stranger to partying but being a double athlete didn’t give him the luxury of getting to drink and party to the degree that Alex and Scotty do.
“I think you’re first toast was somehow less depressing Murphy.” Alicia teased as she took a hold of the bottle. “Here’s to kicking more academic ass this year, to get me one step closer to law school. Someone is going to have to represent you degenerates in the court of law someday.” Alicia took a quick swig and her face tightened as the potent taste filled her mouth. She swallowed hard before also snatching the cola away from Drew to wash it down as well.
Chelsea now grabbed the bottle and made sure to stand to her feet while clearing her throat as if she was about to perform a grand speech. “Here’s to my new friends who will have the immense pleasure of seeing me perform center stage during Eagle Crest’s talent show this year! The record deal will surely follow.” Chelsea grabbed the bottle with confidence and tipped it back until she had a large mouthful of the harsh liquor. Suddenly her eyes bulged open at the strong taste and she turned before involuntarily spitting it all out directly on Scotty. “I’m so sorry!”
Alicia took the opportunity to laugh at his expense this time as Drew threw him a spare t-shirt to wipe himself off with. Chelsea looked mortified and was still apologizing profusely as her new roommate stood up for her. “Don’t worry about it Chels. This is far from the first time that Scotty has made a girl sick to her stomach.”
The bunch continued to let loose and try to push any thoughts about senior year and any responsibilities beyond that out of their mind. Scotty ranted and raved to anyone who’d listen to him, while Alex and Chelsea bonded over their love for music. Drew and Alicia sat back and joked a bit with each other about who was going to be running the school this year.
“Suck it, Murphy! You’ll be lucky if I even let you be seen with me in public.” Alicia bragged with a dramatic flip of her hair. “It would be unfortunate if some unappealing rumors were to pop up about you. I have troths of fans after all to do my bidding.” The two teens shared a laugh and shared a drink from one of the bottles floating around.
“You’re sure of that huh? Because from where I’m sitting your number one fan may be pledging a new allegiance.” Drew nodded to the pair behind them as Alicia’s smile faded to a look of curiosity as she spun around. They both took in the scene of Alec playing a fun tune on his ukelele as Chelsea danced around him and sang a show tune with a bottle in both hands. Alex looked to be having genuine fun but also in awe of Chelsea’s spunk and musical talent. Alicia merely took in the scene a bit longer with her head cocked to the side. “What? You aren’t getting jealous over there, are you Allie?”
“Psshh, as if! It’s nice to breathe again.” The bold girl defended. “Hey, they might both be crazy, but they look almost made for each other. I ship it. But she’s his problem if she keeps downing those bottles like that!” Chelsea turned back to Drew who was trying to figure out if she was being sincere or not. They nodded at one another before taking another shot. The two sat in silence for a moment before Alicia stuck her tongue out at him and he tossed an empty bottle back her way. They both laughed as they looked like they were going to break out in a battle at any moment. “Watch yourself, Andrew! Your bodyguard isn’t here to save your ass!” The commotion seemed to gather everyone’s attention as they all came back toward the center of the room and circled up.
“Let’s play a game! Who’s in?” Chelsea excitedly offered. The other four didn’t exactly seem nearly as enthusiastic but none verbally declined either.
“I mean we do have a perfectly good empty bottle here that just seems destined to be spun.” Scotty wasn’t afraid to be the bold one in the room as he looked around to see if anyone was going to be bold enough to play.
“Keep dreaming Toots. Because that’s the only place you're touching my lips.” Alicia fired back at the guy who recoiled at the nickname. Drew spit out his drink as the memory of Scotty's less-than-pleasant nickname came flooding back.
“Toots?” Alicia questioned as she laughed along with the others but was unsure why. She wasn’t sure if she’d missed something or if the effects of the **** were clearly showing. It was likely both. Scotty stared hard as he was about to come unhinged.
“It’s a story for another day Chels. Trust me.” Drew barely managed to add between his cackling.
“As I was saying… We may as well spice this up. Here new girl, you can go first.” Scotty handed the bottle to Chelsea, who was showing obvious signs of being tipsy at this point.
“I mean it. I’m not playing this damn game!” Alicia continued to be defiant as she refused to even look down as Chelsea spun the bottle without a care in the world. It wasn’t until the gasps that Alicia couldn’t resist the temptation to peek and see the bottle pointing right at her. “Oh, Hell no! There’s no fucking way I’m kissing her…”
Alicia’s words were cut off as Chelsea all but pounced over and placed her hands on both sides of Alicia’s face before yanking her forward into a sloppy kiss. The kiss was over as quickly as it started with Chelsea letting out a dramatic smacking sound as she finally realized the girl.
“What the hell, Chelsea!?” Alicia continued to wipe the heavy booze-flavored kiss from her lips.
“Oh, we’re just having fun. Don’t act like you’ve never kissed a girl before. Have you never been in theatre? That’s show business baby!”
Drew tried to keep Alicia from pouncing while also shushing the entire group to keep from being caught. Alex and Scotty both sat there with their jaws wide open as they had to adjust themselves from the hot scene they had just witnessed. Everyone’s attention quickly shifted to the rattling at the door.
“Oh fuck!” Scotty shouted without thinking. The door then cracked open and everyone let out a sigh of relief as Mason quickly snuck in.
“For fuck sake Boy Scout, you couldn’t have let us know it was you. I about shit myself.”
Mason barely paid him any attention before silently making his way between Drew and Alicia.
“Here cutie,” Chelsea said in her best flirty voice between hiccups. “It’s your turn to drink.”
“Chelsea, Mason doesn’t usually drink during school…” Drew cut himself off as he saw Mason out of the corner of his eye grab the bottle from the girl and tip the bottle straight back. The others cheered while Drew wasn’t sure if he should be worried or proud. He decided to keep an eye on the guy regardless.
The night went on and the group continued to enjoy themselves while drinking without thinking of how early the next morning would come. The gang filled Mason in on anything that he missed, especially the two girls kissing. He mostly just nodded along and tried to act cool but it was apparent enough that something was off with him. Drew tried his best to get the drinks away from the troubled guy any time that he could get away with it. A couple of card games later and nearly everyone was feeling little pain. Typically, being the responsible one was Mason’s job but Drew did his best to fill the role in his current state.
“Alright, ladies and gents… I think we can call this a successful move-in night.” The tall guy said with a final cheer of his drink. A couple of friends booed him as he attempted to break up the fun. Mason was slumped over nearly asleep, which was going to prove difficult to get him back to the dorm. The **** seemed to have the opposite effect on Chelsea who was even more wound for sound. She had been singing song after song to Alex’s encouragement and the two danced and flirted like children. Even Alicia seemed to be enjoying herself at this point and was actually getting along with Scotty for possibly the first time.
“I’m glad you came tonight, Chelsea. I’ve had a blast!” Alex complimented the girl with a large smile as she blushed and thanked him.
“Yeah, yeah. Keep your clothes on over there. Even I’ll admit you can hang. It was a nice change from having a sausage fest.” Scotty added as he tried to finish his drink.
“Excuse me? And what the hell am I then? Alicia attempted to stand on wobbly feet.
“One of the dudes.” A response that caught most off guard as they turned and saw Mason’s head up briefly as he responded before dropping back again and muttering something under his breath.
“Hey! You can fuck off to Anderson! One of the guys huh? Does this look like one of the guys?” The fired-up Alicia reached down and grabbed the cuff of her shirt with both hands as she yanked her shirt up over her head without a second thought. Her large, bouncy globes were barely contained by the pink bra she had on. As the guys were struggling to process the scene, she gave a little bounce that made the material of the bra look like it was in danger of busting.
Finally, Chelsea broke the silence in a way that only she could, “TITTIES!!” She cheered and clapped. Mason stirred awake once more as he glanced up from the commotion.
“Alicia has boobs? Hmm, who knew?” and he was out once again.
Drew struggled to take his eyes off of the perfect view directly next to him and it wasn’t until Alicia saw the look that her friend was currently giving her sculpted body that she dropped her shirt and fixed herself with a slight blush. It was pretty clear that nothing was going to top that and their little party was over.
Drew had Alex help him lift Mason, while Alex wasn’t in much better shape himself. Scotty tried to clean up a bit and pack everything back in his bag. They figured it wasn’t a good idea for everyone to sneak out at once so Scotty told the girls to go ahead and they’ll keep an eye on them before sneaking out themselves. Scotty was watching the door after Alicia and Chelsea left and waiting for their moment. A retching kind of noise caught the other guy’s attention.
“What the hell is that?” Alex asked in fear?” Alex did his best to peak out and saw Alicia trying to drag Chelsea along with her. It was clear that the drinks decided that they didn’t want to stay down for the eccentric girl.
“It’s just Chelsea out there singing her encore.” Scotty cackled.
Are they going to be recovered in time for first class?
