Chapter 58 by Mr Nice Guy Mr Nice Guy

Get Back in the Game

A light breakfast was all Jon wanted. Luckily, there was a tub of plain yogurt in the fridge, to which he added a handful of blueberries. Sitting at the breakfast nook, enjoying the quiet of the morning, Jon took his time, savouring each tiny bite, allowing his tongue to tease the spoon in and out of his mouth. Something about playing with his tongue, sucking on the spoon, even kissing the tip of the utensil, made him feel more alive inside.

The last spoonful swallowed, Jon still felt hungry. But he had a diet to stick to, and last thing he wanted was to start packing on the pounds. Jon put his bowl in the sink, then walked to the full-length mirror in the hallway. Yes, he'd worked hard to look as good as he did, and he didn't want to lose it to something as fleeting as a cupcake.

After admiring his reflection, Jon thought that it was time to start his day right. He was a young man with nothing pressing on his agenda, and so, like many men of his generation before him, he heeded the siren call of the video game. His bedroom was just up the stairs, and so he made a cup of green tea, stopped by his mother's room to give himself a spritz of perfume, and sashayed his way to a day of relaxation.

There it was, on his desk. The VR helmet for Girl World. How could he have forgotten? Yes, he couldn't quite remember the details of the game, but from what he could recollect, it was incredibly immersive and engaging, and he couldn't wait to get back. He plopped his padded behind down on his desk chair, took a sip of his tea, leaving a stain of lipstick on the mug, and slipped the helmet over his head. Once it was fastened, he reached out and clicked the button that said: RESUME.

Jon's head was spinning as he looked around the expansive kitchen, trying to piece together how he ended up there. He was in the middle of making pancakes, and he had no idea how to make them, yet he was going through the motions with ease. Suddenly, he heard the sound of pattering footsteps and looked up to see not one, but three children running towards him.

"Mommy, we're hungry!" a little girl exclaimed, her pigtails bouncing as she spoke.

He looked down and noticed he was dressed like a 1950s housewife, complete with a floral apron and a headscarf. "Of course, sweethearts," he said, smiling at each of them. He was unsure as to who these children were, but they were obviously in need of a strong masculine parental figure, and since he was the only one there, Jon decided to step in.

Just as Jon was setting the food out, a man strode into the room, dressed in a sharp suit. "Good morning, my dear," he said to Jon, his voice smooth and suave. He leaned in and gave Jon a kiss on the cheek.

"Good morning," Jon replied to the stranger. He was still unsure as to what was happening, but at least everyone was friendly.

The man sat down and joined them for breakfast, engaging in playful banter with the children. Jon watched, absently playing with his pearl necklace, feeling enviously admiring the man's charisma. He seemed at ease in his own skin, something Jon could learn a thing or two about.

After breakfast, the man leaned in close to Jon, his breath hot against his ear. "I have a proposition for you, my dear. How about I get the kids off to school, then we have a little alone time?"

Jon's considered the offer. "Alone time?" he repeated, still unsure.

The man chuckled softly. "Yes, just the two of us. I have something special planned for you."

Jon's curiosity got the best of him, and he agreed to the man's proposal. "Okay, I'll meet you in our bedroom," he said, feeling a sense of excitement building within him.

As the man left, Jon quickly cleaned up the kitchen, eager to see what the man had in store for him. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of adventure awaited him in this strange, new world.

As he made his way to the bedroom, he heard the sound of children's laughter as they got ready for their day. He had never had children of his own, and it made his heart warm to hear their happiness. Standing in the hallway Jon took a moment to take stock, unsure of what to do, but then he remembered where he was. He was in Girl World, and as he'd learned on his visit so far, nothing bad ever happened in Girl World. If this nice man had something special planned, Jon was up for it! Pushing open the door to the bedroom and eagerly stepped inside, Jon felt butterflies in his stomach, excited to see what would happen next.
