Rescue and escape.

The night before the day of the execution had come and both Karleen and Freya had been hooded and secured in their cells for the last night of their lives. The two amazon guards sat at a table eating and drinking talking about tomorrow's events to come and playing a game of war while they drank wine. Outside the shadows stood Katherine who was here to fulfil her promise to Arerto or at least the first part, the second part would prove a little more challenging. She waited until her friend approached and drop a bundle as she walked past the bushes that Katherine was hiding in which Katherine retrieved and slipped further into the bushes and opened the bundle and found a servant uniform. She slipped out of her tunic and trousers and slipped into the serving uniform. Also in the bundle was a sedative which she would need for the guards for her plan to work so she headed to the wine cellar and poured two goblets of wine and laced it with the sedative.

Then Katherine headed to the dungeon and greeted the two guards as she placed the goblets on the table" I see the traitors are ready for their date in the morning with the executioner." One of the guards replied that they were and Katherine headed back upstairs and found a hiding spot waiting for the guards to drink. Drink they did because, after a short wait, Katherine heard the clang of metal on the floor and headed back down the stairs and found the two guards on the floor ****. She grabbed the keys and unlocked the doors and entered and went to Karleen and removed her hood and held her finger up signalling Karleen to be silent. She removed the ropes and told her to disrobe while she went next door and released Freya signalling her to be quiet. "Ladies you have questions which I will answer but we do not have much time. Strip the guards and dress them in your prison clothes and secure and hood them."

While this was happening two guards came down the stairs and Karleen and Freya picked up swords but Katherine stopped them."They are with me they will take the place of the guards outside the cells.". Katherine looked in the cell and was happy that both the former guards were secured and hooded and it would be them going to the scaffold in the morning. "Come we need to get to the wine cellar so we can get you both out of here" When they arrived in the cellar Katherine ordered both Karleen and Freya into big wine barrels that were on a wagon and told them to be quiet as she sealed the tops. Lucky that the horses had been tethered otherwise she would have had problems getting out of the palace. She climbed aboard and gently coaxed the horse out of the open delivery doors and headed towards the main gate. Katherine was happy that Chasin was Queen because had Arerto been here she would not have got this far. Yes, security was not a big priority and soon she was out of the palace heading to a friend's warehouse.
