Sam feels the burning sensation again

Sam took off his shirt to investigate. It was the same thing that had happened to his hands, thighs, and butt in the bathroom: intense heat and tingling, but no outward signs at all. He thought he might be able to feel his pulse a little more strongly on his chest, but he couldn't be sure it wasn't his imagination. The sensation seemed to be focused on his nipples, but they looked the same as always.

Out of curiosity, he took off his pants to check out his thighs and butt. No changes.

He decided to ask Alice what that stuff was once she woke up. But where she was asleep only a few moments ago, there was now just a crumpled blanket.
