Grimoire

"I was really looking to understand the 'curse' that hangs over your family, Mr Say. I promised your sister I would try to break it." Liandra saw no reason to hide it, and it wasn't as if anyone else was paying attention to them. She expected something weird to happen, and wasn't disappointed when the moon mad eyes of Rafaelus Say suddenly became sullen.

"It cant be done. This will go on forever" But Olivia, standing next to the princess, said " He is hiding something, your highness". The princess just said "Tell us"

And he did. Months ago a Sorceress came for the same reason, Septima swore she would break the curse that befell the Say family. She was beautiful and Rafaelus grew enamoured with her, he tried his best to help her, but eventually Septima failed, engulfed by the endless reverie. It had been weeks since he had last seen her, perhaps she had just given up and left.

"He is speaking the truth..." Olivia whispered to Liandra. But the princess was unconvinced, and asked "Did Septima carry a book? A journal perhaps, or a grimoire?" Liandra didn't need Olivia to tell Rafaelus answer "N-no" was a lie."You have it. You promised me anything you owned, give it to me, Rafaelus Say".

Much later, Liandra had it in her hands.It didn't look thicker than a diary, but she could feel the gravity around the tome. She opened the pages, and found an entry on Septima´s stay in the Say estate

"I do begin to have a few misgivings about my curiosity and all the obscene plans scheduled for today. I am pampered beyond my wildest dreams. The more sensible I should be, the more excited and libertine my accursed mind becomes. And all that they do but serves to spoil me."

Pages and pages. Liandra so happened to find one discussing the pleasures of sex, but there were others where Septima praised the exquisite cuisine, the delightful musicians, and even the culture of the conversation. It didn't occur to Liandra there could be so many aspects to the hedonistic pleasures pursued in that place, but she would be wary.

"My addled mind is addicted beyond salvation, I am finally convinced. For two months I have had the answer, a concoction that would lift the curse and save the Say family, but their games distract me, persuade me to wait just another day. Last night Rafaelus, sweet Rafaelus. He persuaded me to be one of his mares, and even if I didn't win last night´s race ... but I digress, my sore sex still burns painfully. Tonight will be the night. The concoction works by contact, but it needs to be applied directly to an erect member. That was the last entry, Liandra and Olivia both shuddered at the though of what happened. The rest were spells and enchantments, cantrips and summoning rituals.
