Crypt Tussle

"Holy shit!"

Nolan shouts and backs up terrified. The mummy rises from its tomb with a long, bone chilling groan. Zou grabs Fathi by the shirt collar and screams something in Chinese as Connor points his gun at the monster. The mummy stumbles and drags its feet as it makes its way closer with a reeking smell of **** filling the whole room.

"I don't want to die, mustache man!" Zou shakes Fathi and turns to Connor who is taking aim: "Kill the mummy for fuck's sake!" Zou whines and Connor presses the trigger. The mummy takes a bullet to the skull and falls back and hits the floor groaning. Connor takes a step closer, grinding his teeth.

"I-I-I think I peed myself..." Nolan whines in the corner as Fathi throws the Chinese man off of him. "Where is my security? Where did he go?" As he looks for the security man, Connor shoots the mummy again in the head, breaking its empty skull. The mummy reaches up and almost scratches his leg but the man manages to jump out of the way in time. "Dammit! It won't take the message!"

The mummy rises again and tries to rush Connor so he dodges it and backs away as the mummy regains its stance. "Ah! Connor! It's invincible! It's useless!" Nolan screams and Connor Tusk can't believe it. In all his adventures he has not once seen such a monster. Normally the monsters have guns and hostages in some dim warehouse, not a broken skull and dirty rags hanging from its body in some red-lit tomb... That's when he got it. That crystal seemed almost like a beacon of some sort.

Connor turns his back on the mummy and aims and shoots. The bullet passes the bars of the copper cage where the now red glowing lotus flower crystal is located and the artifact breaks into a million sparkling pieces. The room becomes dark and Connor quickly points his flashlight at the direction of the mummy. His eyes widen as the corpse collapses and lies on the floor like nothing ever happened to it.

"Aaah! Who put the lights out?! I want to go back to Monica!! Get me baaaack!" Zou's pathetic cries echo in the room as Connor tries to light up a lantern. "Mummy's dead... again." He scuffs and the three others try to calm themselves and get up from the floor. Eventually the four gather around the mummy and observe it lying peacefully on the floor.

"Damn archeology bullshit! What a fool's investment!" Zou spits and Fathi turns to him in panic and takes him aside to calm him down as Nolan walks over to the curious crystal, now in pieces on the floor. The crystal shattered like glass would and the high caliber round annihilated it completely. "Connor... you thinking what I'm thinking?" The other man joins him and squats to grab the crystal shards from the floor. "Yeah. This thing made that mummy all kinds of welcoming."

Suddenly the two hear Fathi's manly scream and then Zou's less manly one and as the two look behind them, they see what they came across. It's the corpse of the slender security guard that joined them, now completely skeletal in the corner of the room everyone last saw him. Before any of them can think about it further a sound of high heels on a stone floor comes from the hallway and Monica Shun appears with a more athletic outfit on. She was changing all this time?

"What's up with these screams I'm hearing?"
