Shopping for horns and a hat

Akane had found some time to herself to go out into her home district, not knowing where she was going. She was counting on the fact when everyone else need or wanted a magical item, they often stumble across them. So it wasn't a surprise that she found herself in a shop, looking at some rare wares. it was then she saw something which attracted her attention. A beautiful green silk scarf with golden stags decorating it. She trusted her instincts and brought it to the shopkeeper.

Turns out here instinct were right when the merchant began to convince her not to buy the item. He said, "No, you don't want that. It's the famed cursed Green Hat of the Horns!"

"It's a scarf, not a hat." was her answered.

"No, it's a magical item which combines two symbols of cuckolding. In China, 'Wearing a green hat' refers to men in houses with prostitutes having to wear a green head scarf or hat. This lead to the phrase being linked to the act of a woman cheating on her husband. While the 'Horns' refer to the idea that male stags giving up their mates to other males which defeat them. So horns or wearing the horns come to mean the same thing.

Anyone, male or female, who wears that scarf will have their romantic partner cheat on them. Usually with someone they are jealous or envious of, increasing the humiliation. And if the person wears the scarf for thirty days, the cheating relationship will be permanent. So you know what you shouldn't buy that scarf!" said the man, explaining the nature of the scarf.

Putting her acting skills to work, "You really don't believe that. So how much for it?"

It took some arguing, but she got the scarf for a cheap prize as the keeper felt bad for selling such a curse item. But her did sell it.

Once out of the shop, she put the scarf on around her neck.
