Baptism

The Bishop has everyone get naked and leads them to a small decorative pool at the front of the room. He tells you that you are going to affirm your baptism with each other, and learn how to deliver a baptism to new converts. One person stands with his back to the pool and the others hold his arms and body to lower him into the water. You get up first, and the cold water drips off you as the boys pull your dripping naked body back out of the pool.

Todd approaches you with a small, metallic towel and you stand beside him as the next Elder is prepared for their Baptism. The water in the tank is lit with neon blue lights, giving it an otherworldly appearance.

As each Elder is submerged in the water, they emerge with a new sense of purpose. The Bishop's voice echoes through the chamber, his words amplified by a holographic projection. He tells the group that their first day is complete, and they are now Brothers in Christ 2.0.

As you make your way out of the baptismal chamber, your mind buzzes with information. You and the rest of the Elders are directed to neural enhancement pods, where you can rest and integrate the day's teachings.

Tomorrow will bring more intense training, with simulations designed to test your faith and skills. You plug into the pod, feeling the rush of data as it streams into your mind. As you drift off into a deep sleep, you know that you are ready for whatever challenges lie ahead.
