Without incident until new security

Sam was extremely foresighted when, through all the chaos and pandemonium, she was able to hold onto her phone, wallet, and keys. She took the train downtown, admiring the sights out of her window, and then took the next train to Midway.

When she got to Midway, she navigated the terminals before she walked up to the Gamma desk and explained her situation.

"Yes, we have your bag in the baggage claim, but unfortunately it's airside, so you'll have to go through security again."

Sam groaned but went through the security line. She started unzipping her coat, but thought better of it and just unloaded her phone, wallet and keys into the bin. Unfortunately for her, the metal detector beeped when she first passed through it.

"Just take the coat off," the guard told her.

Sighing at the inevitable, she took her coat and put it in the bin with her other items - catching it just before it entered the scanner - and grinned and bore it as people inevitably stared.

On the other side of the mercifully incident-free line, Sam reached for her bin and didn't see her coat.

"Ma'am," a female guard told her, "we've held your coat since some suspicious material came up in it. It'll just be a second!"

Sam rolled her eyes but felt **** in the matter.
