Mariner from Star Trek Lower Decks

Shampoo soon had a whole set of photos in Starfire’s hands each depicting a dark-skinned girl/woman with 4b hair in a high-ponytail. Each photo showed the girl with James and Starfire at different stages of their lives. One photo had them as little children fighting aliens with large earlobes (James and the girl were both biting on one’s arms while Starfire was taking a selfie).

“These are photos of friend Beckett,” Starfire said as she showed everyone the photos. “We were the bestest of friends and we had many adventures together whenever we were living in one of the worlds of the Star Trek. Oh and she liked to be called Mariner later.”

“She a Prime Worlder?” Laura asked as she took one of the photos from Starfire. “Since you apparently hung around her a bunch.”

“No, she was a local character,” Starfire explained to the surprise of some of the group. “Her world is what is called a naturalized vacation world; Prime Worlders and their characters enter such universes with falsified records and are let loose to do as they wish. Consequences are for the Prime Worlders to live with.”

“So, James’ family and you would hang out on the Enterprise and have fun fighting a random monster of the week,” Ahsoka asked, having watched most of the Star Trek shows with James a few months ago. “I remember James mentioning some of his adventures while we were watching the show a while back but he mostly grumbled about some of the inaccuracies.”

“He must’ve not wanted to bring up Starfire at the time,” Katara figured. “Maybe he didn’t want to taint the happy memories while she was still missing.” Starfire acknowledged this before addressing Ahsoka’s statement.

“We did have many foes but we did not spend all the time fighting,” Starfire replied a bit happily. “We spent much of our time learning while sometimes having adventures. Like in this photo with Mariner.” She held up the first photo she was given. “A species called the Ferengi had taken over the ship while Captain Picard and others had been reduced to children.”

“So you lived that episode ‘Rascal’?” Ahsoka asked. “You helped Picard repel the hijackers? I recall James complaining about the Ferengi while we watched.”

“Not quite,” Starfire replied as she shyly tapped her pointer fingers together. “Captain Picard helped us technically. While they were making a plan, Mariner, James and I were already fighting and taking over the bridge. While Captain Picard was teleporting away the **** foes, James was declaring himself king of the Enterprise with Mariner and I as his co-first officers. Captain Picard had to steal a shuttle to get the adults back and dethrone him.”

“Wasn’t Riker still on the ship?”

“James accidentally knocked him out so he couldn’t help,” Starfire explained, revealing another photo where the trio were drawing on Riker’s face with a bunch of other kids.

“What happened after the adults came back?” Aelita asked, worried about a bunch of kids being in control of a ship alone.

“We were given a scolding for being reckless and doing the fighting; Picard was very not nice with us for some time,” Starfire said, pouting a bit. “Daisy and Mister Gardner were amused at our fun and upped his allowance.”

“Did you spend a long time there?” Marinette asked as she saw the progression the photos showed of James’ life. “It looks like you spent your whole life there.”

“We would constantly go there for months at a time, with some tricks done to make it unnoticed.”

“It looks like you had some interesting missions,” Erza said as she looked at a photo. “What can you tell us about this one?”
