Chapter 31

Does she take the offer?
Yes
"Fine," Hinata finally spoke, her voice soft but firm. Her face didn't lighten up either but she did flip the rest of her body towards Elm. This caused Elm to smile a bit, she was at least opening up a bit. "What do you want to show me anyways?"
"I was thinking we could play a game or maybe watch a movie," Elm suggested. "Maybe both if you are open to it?" Hinata thought about it. She then moved her hand to her arm and looked down to the ground or bed technically.
"I can do both, I obviously have nothing better to do," was what Hinata finally came to. "Could Zelda join us too?" Hinata for the first time looked into his eyes with a hopeful look. Well, he definitely didn't oppose the idea of having Zelda but he did want to at least get some one on one bonding time with Hinata.
"How about we watch something, just the two of us? Then when we play a game we can have Zelda join us," Elm offered. He hoped it was a good enough balance so that she was happier but still allowed him the time.
"That works," Hinata said, in a professional manner. She then looked at him for long enough to ask him, "What are we watching?" She ducked her eyes away from him after that. Elm didn't know. He thought of something she might like. A light romance movie? No that would not sit well with her right now. Fantasy? That could end up with her thinking about the Hidden Leaf. Well, how about Sci-Fi? It was probably not a genre she was familiar with, at least in today's current form. Now he knew the movie.
"It's this movie called Alien," he flashed her a grin. She gave him an intrigued face, probably never even hearing the phrase Alien before. That or a movie but the level of technology was kind of unclear in Naruto. It was kind of unclear here too but that wasn't here nor there. "Come on let's go."
Hinata slowly picked herself up from the couch and followed Elm out of the room. Leading her they got to the living room to watch the movie. She sat down on the couch keeping an arms-length distance between them. She also kept her legs crossed, hands in her lap, and looked around anxiously.
"You want popcorn," Elm asked her setting up the movie. She quickly shook her head and looked off away from Elm. She seemed flustered by something. He guessed it had to do with the last time they were alone. He just hoped that air could clear between them with these activities.
As the movie began she kept her eyes only looking forwards never straying away from the screen. It wasn't the enthralled type either but a **** look as if she had a gun pointing to the back of her head making her do it. As it continued he tried to get some small comments out of her or even just make her look away from the screen. She didn't budge though. Only focused on the TV screen. He was beginning to wish he could read minds so he could know what was in her mind.
By the time the movie had ended and he turned the TV off, the room descended into an awkward silence. Elm was pretty sure that however full their relationship meter was before, was the exact same now. He looked over to Hinata and she swiveled her head the other way. She really didn't want to pay him any attention.
"How did you like the movie," Elm asked her trying to break the silence. Hinata mumbled an incoherent squeak from her side of the couch reasserting the bearer of silence in the room.
"Alright I'll get Zelda and we'll play some game," he told her. She gave a slight nod as he stared at the back of her head. He picked himself up from the couch and with one last look at Hinata he turned to find Zelda. That had somehow gone worse than he thought it could have. She must absolutely hate him.
Walking through the house, he kept to the main part hoping to find Zelda somewhere in the mess. He eventually did, finding Zelda humming to herself inside a much more professional-looking kitchen than the one they had been using. He could have questioned it but well, no. It was honestly the least questionable thing in this house.
"Do you want to play some game," Elm asked Zelda who was scrubbing the surface of a metal table that sat in the middle of the room. He really needed to get others to help Zelda out and decided he would after the game.
"Sure," Zelda replied to him looking up from her work. "Do you want me to bring Vanessa? She is with me at the moment." Elm looked around the room not seeing her, panic rising.
"That's fine. Where is she though," Elm asked, and as if to answer the question Vanessa walked out of another room. She caught sight of Elm and gave him a cocky smile. Elm peered quickly into the room she came from and found it was just a bathroom, thank god.
"What's up," Vanessa asked keeping her smile. She crossed her arms and tilted her head up a bit. Elm took note of her demeanor and her confidence that had increased. Had she switched?
"We're going to be playing a game, you in," Elm repeated himself.
"Sure."
What game to play?
