Blast it with the shotgun

"Yick! I am NOT going to touch you," you say to the chaun.

It giggles again and you rack the shotgun. It takes a step towards you and that's enough. Your mind is made up. The shotgun booms in your hands and the fireball round incinerates the chaun instantly. Vampire kin always were so flammable.

The smoldering corpse falls to the ground. You kick it with your toe once to be sure it's not getting up and then eject the empty shell from the shotgun. The creepy little chaun had it coming, but you've only got a couple shots left. Better make them count instead of wasting them on low level monsters like this. You survey the wrecked plane one last time, but there is nothing more to be found.

A short walk from the plane crash takes you to a cobbled road. Signposts point the way west to Isenvlad, the same direction as mountains and that creepy Castle Vlad. Somewhere on the other side is the compound and the airport in the center of the island. Isenvlad must be a town. Maybe they have a telephone and a masseuse there. The other way is more mountains, more forest and, presumably, Monster Island's rocky coast. Maybe if you go that way you can signal a boat or something.
