Follow Aelita's story

(POV Change)

“So what’s the plan? Do we go looking for him?” Ahsoka asked, waving a can of soda around. After the Rein Corp representatives left James’ parents’ mansion, Aelita and Starfire got cleared to go home. After reviewing some options with James’ parents, it was decided that Aelita and Starfire will go home and stay there in case James’ disappearance was enemy action rather than accidental.

“I checked with the space port authority, “ Gwen Stacy said, leaning into a sofa. “They said that the ship is still getting swept for tricks and some of the smaller characters. We aren’t gonna get it released for at least a week.”

“So we can’t even go rescue him on our own?” Katara frowned. “Can’t we pay someone to take us?”

“We’ll get caught going offworld without James’s permission,” Alex said confidently. “I don’t think we’ll want to spend time in a jail cell.”

“There must be something we can do!” Starfire shouted as she punched a table which shattered.

“Kirlia! Kir Rlia!” Pixel shouted as well with reality starting to flex around her. A dark form shifted from under Starfire’s chair and slapped Pixel in the back of the head. A shiny Umbreon gave Pixel a warning growl before ducking back down to their spot. This was Glembor, a shiny Umbreon once trained by Starfire during James’ and her little adventure in a Pokemon World.

“We’re going to let the guests of the wedding know that the wedding might get delayed,” Aelita declared from James’s favorite chair. “We are going to have everything squared away for James’s return.”

“Are you sure? Isn't there something more active we can do?” Asked Laura who was carefully cleaning her claws. “Doesn’t James and his parents have a bunch of friends we can get help from?”

“I…I'm not sure,” Aelita stated, looking a little lost. “Everyone I can think of could only really help in town without expecting too much of them.”

“His parents are having his siblings to take a fleet over to help with the search,” Gaige reported as she fiddled with a strange cube in her hands. “I don’t think there is much we can do on that end.” Rayla appeared to start to open her mouth but a quick stomp on a foot and a look from Callie and Marie got her to keep quiet about her thoughts on the situation.

“At least we can finish renovating the house before James surprises us with more harem girls?” Ahsoka half joked.

“Think he’ll notice if we move his collection three inches to the left?” Asked Kate who was smiling a bit bitterly.

“Maybe,” Aelita let out a little chuckle, causing the nervous atmosphere to break a bit. Some of the harem started to leave the room and go about their business when Katara spoke up.

“Aelita, make sure you don’t push yourself,” Katara said comfortingly. “I’ll be there to help you out.”

“Me as well,” Starfire nodded her head. Many others gave their agreement.

“Thank you all,” Aelita smiled brightly with tears in her eyes. She was about to say something more but at that moment the doorbell rang.
