Chapter 25

Is that all you have to do today?
Not quite. You have one more class this week.
As much as I would love to head home and crash from the rest of the day, I unfortunately do have one class on Friday. On the bright side, that class also happens to be my favorite class this semester: health. I know, it doesn't exactly sound like the most interesting class, but I really do look forward to it. A large reason for that is my health teacher, who is, without a doubt, better than any other teacher I have right now, at least in terms of personality. Because of that, going to health class may actually help me calm down after that intense meeting. Checking the clock, I see it's about time for me to head over, so I begin making my way there.
When I arrive, just taking a single step into the classroom makes it feels easier to breath. The environment here is so low-pressure, especially compared to that of Helen's office. Students are idly chatting with one another and the whole room seems alive with positive energy. Just what I needed right now.
"Matt! It's good to see you! How are you doing?" I hear a familiar, warm voice call out to me.
"It's good to see you too, Ms. Davis. I'm doing much better now that I'm here."

It's hard not to enjoy the presence of Maria Davis. She loves to make people feel welcomed and acts much friendlier than any other instructor I've met at North Ridge. She always seems to be in a good mood. In fact, I don't know that I've ever seen her without her lips at least slightly curved into a smile. If it wasn't clear from the fact that I called her "Ms. Davis," Maria isn't technically a professor. From what she's explained to me, she's currently working on getting some sort of medical degree to become a doctor, and she's working part-time as a health teacher as part of her graduate program. Honestly, I would happily be her first patient if I had the opportunity.
Maria's sunny disposition only add to her overall charm. Being a health teacher, it's not surprising that she takes great care of herself. Her toned legs and flat stomach are hard not to notice. She also dresses much less conservatively than a lot of other staff members at the school, which gives plenty of opportunity to get a good look at her impressive assets. At this point, I've lost track of how many times I've talked about having the hots for someone here. Sometimes I wonder how I ended up at a school with so many sexy women.
"Aw, that's so sweet to hear! But I keep telling you, you don't have to bother with all that 'Ms. Davis' stuff. Maria is fine."
"Right, sorry, Maria," I respond with a chuckle, which prompts her to chuckle too.
"Don't worry to much about it. Now, tell me what color we're dealing with today," she says as she takes a step closer to me.
What Maria is referring to is one thing I haven't mentioned yet and what a lot of people would probably consider her best feature: her eyes. For some reason I don't understand, Maria's eyes seem to change colors. I've seen them range anywhere from a deep brown to a bright blue, but one thing is always true, which is that they're stunning no matter what color they are. Ever since I first brought it up to her, she's started asking me what color they are anytime we see each other. I think she considers it a fun little thing for the two of us to share, almost like a secret handshake. Humoring her, I take a moment to stare into her beautiful irises before answering.
"It looks like they're especially brown today."
"Uh oh, I guess that means I'll have to be extra serious today," she states while trying as hard as she can (and failing) to hold back her smile.
There doesn't really seem to be any logic behind how Maria interprets her current eye color, but like I said, she treats the whole thing as more of a game than anything serious, so I suppose that's to be expected. The two of us talk for a little bit before she finally decides she should probably start the class. I sit down in my seat and relax while listening to Maria's lecture, even if her version of a lecture is more of a casual discussion with the class.
While I briefly consider trying to use the remote on someone here, I ultimately decide against it for now. As much as health is the perfect subject for the kind of fun the remote provides, I'm still coming down from everything that happened this morning. I'd rather not get myself worked up with another roll of the dice for the time being.
Health class breezes by before I suddenly find everyone else getting ready to leave, Maria included. I guess that means I ended up skipping over another class period. Whoops. I head out, chatting a tiny bit more with my teacher before making my way back to the bus stop.
The second I get home, I can tell that I'm already done for the day. I'm ready to get to bed the second I walk through the door. As much fun as it might be to try to make more progress with my family, even that sounds like somewhat of a chore right now. I'll have all weekend to deal with them anyway. Luckily for me, the rest of the afternoon is relatively normal, or at least what constitutes normal in my house now. I even recheck Michelle to see if she has a new attribute. Still nothing there. Julia also comes back home today and she seems to be in a better mood. She's not fully back to normal, and she continues to pay close attention to everyone's actions, but at least she's willing to joke around and make conversation a little.
I decide to turn in early and get that sleep I've been craving. It's a this point that I remember that in addition to today's stress, I also got a horrible night's sleep yesterday. Well, luckily it's Saturday and I can stay in bed for some extra time. Also, Violet is coming over tomorrow so we can go to the movies. That should be fun and relatively stress-free. Not to mention, I'm curious to see how perverted she's become since I last saw her on Wednesday. No matter what, I'm sure the two of us will have a good time. We always do when we hang out together.
How does Saturday start off?
