Easily.
After a long and tough back-and-forth battle, I managed to beat his Fox. I taunted him again.
“No chance, huh? Looks like you’re about to be down $500,” I said.
“That’s unlikely,” Josh replied.
For someone who just lost, he looked completely composed. It was unnerving to me. He was one game away from losing a lot of money and his demeanor hadn’t changed at all. It was driving me crazy. I knew I had his number now. But if he still felt he could win, maybe I could get more out of him.
“Wow, you still think you can win after that match? I just crushed you,” I said with a little too much confidence.
It was actually a pretty close match, but I felt like I had the momentum, and it was a classic strategy for me to psyche my opponents out.
