“Well, I will not complain,” you answer and sit down, “but, where is everyone? If I’m up early, are they all eating later?”

“Veronica left yesterday evening and Miguel is in downtown to deal with some business,” your father answers, “but at least I’m not alone. I prefer eating with family, sadly this was … difficult after your mother left with you. However, you can tell the maid what you want to eat. She will inform the kitchen and bring you the food.”

“Oh, very nice of you,” you say, “well, I guess a few slices of bread with butter and jam will do.”

“And what exactly?” you ask a little unsure, “I normally just eat what is in the fridge or on the table.”
