Chapter 18
by SingingLark
How should Liandra treat her new handmaidens?
Kind and informal
Liandra met with Duke Arthos daughters during breakfast. They gathered in a terrace with a view to the sea and the garden, and the day was sunny and lovely. The gods must have specially tailored the background, for It matched quite well the sisters.
Olivia was tall and slim, she had a long light chestnut hair and a very pretty face, she obviously put much care in her appearance, for she was well powdered, her eyes enhanced by eye liners, her lips a delicate rose with a light pink color, and even her nails had a navy blue that matched her eyes. Liandra noted her breasts were rather small, probably a mere A cup, but still it fit her willowy figure.
Dani appeared younger, and less refined. Her curly hair was a lighter snow blonde colour, her blue eyes shined like two sapphire, but these noble traits lived with freckled cheeks and a dark mole just above her lips, traits most noblewomen would hide under excessive make over. She wore a lighter dress that did little to disguise the voluptuous body beneath, a figure that some women would try to emulate with tight dresses and corset.
"Olivia and Dani, I assume? a pleasure to meet you, I am Liandra" They both curtisized with equal humility
"Princess, we are your humble servants" Olivia said, she had a sweet voice that reminded the princess of the lark and other morning birds.
"Please, your dad did offer me your service, but lets first meet, and not be so formal. I feel silly for offering you breakfast in your own home, but take a sit, and lets talk while we eat" Liandra tried to be amiable, and it appeared to work. Dani had a marvelous smile that could brighten even the sourest day, and while Olivia didn't let herself go much, she also had wit and humor.
They chatted for almost an hour, until Dani made the question "But we always heard our princess was homely and dreamy, and said to greatly enjoy her gardens and her arts. Bards of yore tells of solitary traveling royalty, but usually on tales of conspiracy and treachery" Olivia gasped at her sister´s temerity, even if she was used to her sharp tongue. Liandra was surprised too, but on retrospect had to admit her journey looked very suspicious.
"I am not plotting against the king, nor do I have brothers and sisters. I am... merely looking for answers" She offered vaguely, but once started a rapier wit doesn't soon let go. "And wisdom finds need, and need calls for action. We look at the Sun and know tonight the Moon and the Stars will share the sky"
"Dani! Forgiveness, princess, my sister forgets her place" this upset the blond sister most of all "And mine lost hers, unless we find a blind sheppard to guide blind sheep. Princess, I don't mean to be blunt, but bastard children don't survive long unless they learn the lay of the land."
"Bastard?" Liandra asked, and even if Olivia looked away, Dani explained "Yes, princess... for my father is a lusty stallion, and found many a mare to breed."
But Olivia quipped "He also took responsibility for each of his slips, and raised us with the love and education to let us thrive based on our own efforts. Many would just deny their thirsts, and leave the fallen apples to rot on the ground" it was an old debate, and they continued it even if Liandra was present "Love accepts as things are, to sculpt things as one wants is Tyranny" Dani retorted.
Liandra could see Olivia´s eyes fill with tears, so she decided to intervene before things went worse "I don't take offense by Dani´s words, and lets try to be friends, shall we? there is no reason for us not to" The sisters still looked crossed, so Liandra continued "I am tied to a political marriage, but I fear war and misery lies in our Kingdom´s future. So yes, I am looking for answers, and maybe that puts me at odds with my father, but I hope it would never need to turn to rebellion. What I do know is that, right now, I am a mere figurehead, and I wish to be my own woman."
Dani nodded at her words, stood up, and then knelt in front of the princess "Princess Liandra, I swear my honor and fealty to your cause and name." the princess found the knightly homage a bit strange, but Olivia followed suit, although she was more feminine in the way she bowed "to the end, we are yours"
--================---
Liandra spent the day with Olivia and Dani, and she found both very friendly. They were as different as day and night, Dani was an opinionated wildfire, while Olivia was cultured and educated. They were even very close to each other, despite their earlier argument.
At some point she declared her intention to retire for the night, and noted suddenly how nervous her handmaidens looked. She asked what was wrong, but Olivia mumbled an excuse.
In her room, and she had almost forgotten about him, Chives gave them quite a fright, the beholder kin was the strangest 'pet' the princess could possibly have. Dani showed him her temper, and ordered the aberration out while the princess bathed.
She was already down to her petticoat when Olivia said "Princess... may apologies, Liandra. I ... there is a matter I needed to tell you" Olivia still looked tense as a bowstring "Of course Olivia, speak freely"
"I swore silence about certain things... and I swear, it was never my intention to deceive you" Dani returned, and immediately seemed to realize a grave confession was going on "Dani, would you please help me?"
The blonde helped her sister remove her dress, and Liandra stared in shock as the slender body revealed was definitively a man, and not a woman. Olivia was foremost ashamed when her sister untied the knot that held her cock, and it sprout up, tall and erect, for the princess attention.
"I am my father´s daughter... for a bastard son would have some claim over my father´s heirloom. I was raised as a girl, I am a girl, so I would never threaten my half brother claims... something I never cared about, anyway" Olivia started crying, and Dani embraced her sister.
What will Liandra say?
A naïve princess
