Nautical Alide

The group heads over to the boat and there's a simple gangplank waiting for them, they head up and find the door to the actual boat is already open and waiting for them. They enter to find the inside is basically the same as Alide's room, except now on a boat, she's wearing a captain hat, but otherwise is dressed the same and gives a gentle wave to Yulia and the others as they enter.

"Hello! Welcome to my boat," she says cheerfully, then pauses, "er... Ahoy?" she tries and then shrugs, "forget it... Anyway, you know the deal, what do you desire?" she asks.

"Well... Actually we wanted to ask you some stuff first..." Yulia responds and Alide leans forward on her desk.

"Planning to interrogate me like you did that Siren? I don't think it will work, but I'd be willing to play along," she teases and Yulia hesitates, but then continues.

"Well... I don't think we need to interrogate you, we just wanted to know about what Dahlia said. She said there'd be a time you might turn on us," Yulia continues. Alide's smile fades and she sighs.

"She's not lying, but... you don't have to worry about that, just yet. I'm still your friend and even when the time comes that my... other role in this tower puts us at odds, I won't impede your progress in the Tower... I'm just supposed to stop you from... completing a specific goal," she explains.

"What specific goal?" Yulia asks and Alide shakes her head.

"I'm afraid I'm not allowed to say more, but I believe in you and if you do end up trying for that goal and we end up at odds... I promise I'll hold nothing against you, no matter what. Hold nothing back, cause I won't either. I'm not allowed too," she responds and she seems a bit sad all of a sudden before waving a hand dismissively, "anyway as I said that's nothing to worry about for a while... Let's focus on the now! You have any other questions?" she asks suddenly cheerful again.

"Well... Um... What can you tell us about this floor?" Yulia asks.

"Nothing you don't mostly already know. The floor is split in two with a corresponding surface and underwater section. There are three factions at war in the underwater sections. Normally they only occasionally bother with the surface areas, but the arrival of a strange individual has sent them scrambling all over the place in search of special shells which the aforementioned individual spread around the area himself. As was surmised part of the reason for this is just to make the Chosen's life harder and also probably just for fun. They seem to just enjoy knowing they can manipulate this war at their whim. Dealing with the war or the dealer is not required to proceed to the next floor, you just need to defeat the floor boss as per usual, though dealing with the war will likely make things easier. You already know there are two ways currently you can gain the ability to breath underwater, as per many things in this Tower, one is harder, but more rewarding, the other is easier, but will cost you something," she explains and then sighs, "the wandering monster on this floor is the Kraken. A massive tentacled beast who's main body remains in the underwater portion. If his main body moves into the underwater portion of an area though he will also attack the corresponding surface portion, that means that despite this area being technically larger than previous floors, the chance of running into the Kraken is roughly double what it would normally be and, as you may have figured out already, you cannot actually damage the Kraken unless you fight it's main body under the water," she explains and then hesitates, "although fighting off it's tentacles on the surface will be enough to make it retreat," she adds.

"Well we did know most of that I suppose, but some of it is new and we appreciate clarification on some of the stuff we already sort of knew, but not fully," Yulia responds and Alide smiles.

"Glad I could help then... Now is there anything else or are we ready to talk about what boons you'd like from me?" she responds, placing her elbows on the desk and steepling her fingers together.

As the women spoke the boat seemed to shift slightly, like the water it rested in had become more severe, though there were windows in the room and there was no sign of a storm outside.
