A secret marriage? should Liandra?
Secret marriage
Liandra didn't need to ask if Kendra was serious, deep down she knew she was. She nodded a bit first, her eyes looking around just to be sure the two weren't being overheard, then she says "Yes... we really should. But we need a wedding dress. And bride´s maid"
Kendra laughed, and said "it is supposed to be secret, not a big event". Liandra pouts "fine... but you will have to make it up to me afterwards"
"So we shall meet at the shrine of the twins" The twin goddess of magic, Liandra though, how appropriate. For one of them shared her name, and she always felt a certain affinity with the fairer of the twin deities of magic.
Liandra went back home, and selected her best dress, her best shoes, and her best jewels. But then decided it would be impractical to take all of these, so instead chose a pretty dress, her riding boots, and a selection of earrings, collars and tiara to match. She dressed a cloak, and was quite proud of herself when she managed to sneak out barely past dusk without anyone noticing.
She arrived at the shrine a couple of hours after, taking her time to navigate the streets. Kendra was already waiting for her, and she was gorgeous.
Kendra still wore leather, but this was of no creature Liandra could identify, it was a smooth deep black that clinged to her figure, Its V shaped cleavage showed the side of her breasts. She also had a wicked looking gauntlet over her right hand.
Liandra´s satin white dress was no less handsome, for it bared most of her shoulders and some of her cleavage, it was the most daring in luxian fashion. The sparkling diamonds in her collar and earrings were a bit much, but Liandra was so happy she didn't care.
The priest that appeared was no one Liandra had ever seen, but his face was very familiar. He greeted each girl in turn, and praised what beautiful woman she grew up to.
He spoke of the many duties of marriage, of joy and of hardship. Liandra kept looking at his face, and suddenly she did recognize him! for he was her grandfather´s likeness, except older. She had often seen his portrait in the palace, but it couldn't be him. King Reid died several years ago. Unless... he was a ghost!
"So speak your vows, with the gods and goddess as your witness" The spectral king said
"Liandra, I vow to make my uttermost to please you in every way, for your happiness is my happiness, your sadness is my sadness. For years I have been content to thread a way of blind darkness, hiding under duty, but you gave me a gift dearer than life. You gave me hope, and love. I know tomorrow is uncertain, but knowing that you are mine, and I am yours, I feel ready for whatever may come."
A vow! Liandra had completelly forgotten about it. What does she say?
