AR - Means and Ends Part 2

You aren’t sure what to think about the way that Stef’s nice house doesn’t match her biker persona. The weird cold snap is ending and the normal, relative warmth of the Florida winter is returning. It’s still cool at night, and Stef answers the door in plaid jammy bottoms and a gray sweatshirt.

She looks startled but pleased to find you and Adella on the doorstep.

“Hi, guys. What’s up?” she says, stepping aside to let you in. It’s warm in the house, and smells like popcorn. You see Jessica in the next room in a robe, watching TV. She looks back over the couch and smiles.

“Hi,” she says.

“Hi. Sorry to just come over. This seemed like a conversation to have in person,” you say, embarrassed. Asking Stef to do this seemed like the obvious choice, but how does one ask a couple to go fuck a young woman’s brains out? Tactfully. You follow Stef into the kitchen, where she leans against the island and folds her arms. You’re out of earshot of Jessica.

“We’re in trouble,” you announce.

“I figured. How bad?”

“Bad. We’ll get blown out.”

Stef winces. “Not even a fighting chance?”

You look at Adella for confirmation, then shake your head. “Not unless we play dirty.”

“How dirty?”

“Well, um, the least dirtiest thing I could think of is still kind of dirty,” you admit.

Stef smiles, then cocks her head. “Excuse me?”

“We need to distract that coach. Take her mind off work. You know?”

Stef does a thoughtful little frown. “I think I do.”

“And, uh, you and Jessica seem pretty adventurous. Think you could do it?”

Stef is taken aback. “You want us to do it? Why not the young, attractive couple?”

“Because we have to coach. And the experienced, attractive couple should be confident,” you add.

“Aww,” Stef says, snorting. “You’re sweet.” She sighs. “Jess won’t go for it. She talks a big game, but a stranger like that? No.”

“You two don’t actually…?” Adella lets it hang.

“Back when we were young and things were crazy with Carla and Ellen and stuff, sure. But that was a long time ago. These days? No,” Stef laughs. “I don’t know if Jess even has the balls to go through with it.”

“So you can’t do it?” you ask.

“I didn’t say that,” Stef replies with a twinkle in her eye. “Jess can’t. I can. Especially if I get help from Carla.” She nods. “We can make this coach forget all about soccer. Can we win then?”

“I don’t know,” you admit. “But it doesn’t matter. We just need our girls to have fun and not get crushed. This is about them. Not politics.”

Stef takes that in. She doesn’t love it, but she respects it.

“Course,” she says, giving you a look. “If I do this, I’ll have to tell you all about it. Every detail.”

“In the hot tub,” you say. “We figured.”

“Good.” She smirks and holds out her hand.

Blushing, you reach out and shake it.

“But the tub’s not even filled right now,” she says. “Want to watch TV with us?”

You blink, then look at Adella in panic. “What? Tonight?”
