Chapter 6 by 280tcove 280tcove

Does anything happen on the way to your room?

An Encounter in the Hallway

I have quite a bit on my mind as I head up the stairs and toward my room, mostly about the Random Remote. However, as I reach the top of the staircase, I have to put that on hold as I hear the sound of footsteps quickly approaching me. And I don't mean quickly like a speed walk, I mean a full-on run. Hearing that noise, I know exactly what's about to happen.

"MATT!" A high pitched voice calls out excitedly. A few short moments later, another body collides into me for a leaping hug. Luckily, it's a pretty light weight, so I'm able to return the mid-air hug without even flinching. "I'm so happy you're back! Dinner isn't the same if we're not all around the table!"

After a brief, but very tight hug, we both let go and my overly eager attacker takes a step back so we can look at each other. It's at this point that I'm finally able to see the face of Julia, with the gigantic smile she almost always has on her face.

Despite what people might initially think when looking at us, Julia is actually older than me, making her the middle child and me the youngest. Like me, she goes to North Ridge, she's just a couple years ahead of me. She's definitely the peace-keeper of the family. She's super friendly with just about everyone, but she especially loves spending time with me and our oldest sister. It's a good thing she gets along so well with both of us since we fight all the time, often making it Julia's job to break us up when necessary. I sometimes feel bad for since she just wants us to get along.

As I mentioned before, most people assume Julia is the youngest in the family, which she absolutely hates. Even though she's usually full of enthusiasm, there's nothing that ruins her day faster than being treated like a kid. A lot of times, she tries to dress up in business attire to try and make herself look older (or at least closer to her actual age), but it doesn't seem to help as much as she would like. Julia often complains to me that she thinks people only find her cute. While I have to admit that she is pretty cute most of the time, with her light blonde hair and sparkling green eyes, she absolutely can be sexy when she wants to be. Sure, she has a bit of a flat chest (another fact she hates being reminded of), but her long, slender legs and juicy ass more than make up for it. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've had to stop myself from trying to slap that bubble butt of hers on multiple occasions.

"Sorry I'm so late, Julia. I wish I could have been back sooner," I try to assure her.

"It's alright. I used to have Powell for history too, so I get it. But anyway, that's boring! I don't want to talk about dumb school! Did anything interesting happen today while you were out?"

My heart skips a beat when she asks that. As much as I like talking to my sister, this whole remote business might be something to keep to myself for now. Besides, I'm still exhausted from a long day, so I'd rather have some time to relax right now.

"Not really. Just classic college stuff."

"Lame. Alright, I'm sure you're tired, so I'll leave you alone for now. Talk tomorrow?"

"For sure."

The two of us say our goodbyes, and Julia heads back to her room. As she does, my mind wanders back to the Random Remote and what I might have done to our mother. For a split second, I wonder what would happen if I tried it on Julia. However, I shoot that thought down just as quickly as it formed. I couldn't do that to Julia. If this remote really does change people, I don't want to change someone so sweet and caring, especially not after already subjecting my mom to it. Luckily, that internal dialogue ends when I hear Julia close the door to her room, leaving me alone in the hall. With no real reason to wait any longer, I continue the walk to my room.

Does anything else happen before you reach your room?
