"Hm, so we've tested the effects of each other's hair. What about blood? Do we think that would be different?" Becca mused.

Julie was also intrigued. She ran into their den and grabbed a clean syringe. Pulling a little blood from a vein on her arm in a practiced move, she wrote Becca's name on the placard and placed the syringe in the compartment.

She looked at Becca, expecting to see her doppelganger again. To her surprise, the woman hadn't changed all. "How do you feel?"

Becca looked at her hands. "Not much different, to be honest. Is there something different I'm not aware of?"

Julie shrugged. Did it not work? "Not that I can tell. Maybe describe yourself?"

"Alright, my name is Julie Klein. I'm 31, and-"

"Wait, what?"

Becca looked at her. "I'm Julie Klein, your girlfriend. What, is that not right?"

This was definitely not right. "Um, do you know anyone named Becca?"

"No, should I?" She was catching on that there was something different after all. "Did we make me forget about this Becca person?"

Julie was really curious and starting to get a little aroused. "So what's my name?"

Becca looked at her quizzically. "Julie Klein, same as me. What's different?"

"So we're dating, right?"

"Yeah, of course, sweetie. Unless that's what's changed?"

Julie was struggling with this new situation. "Are we different people?"

"Of course! Well, sort of. We're kind of the same. We have the same birthday, the same parents, the same background. But we're two different human beings, just with the same history and traits. A lot of people frown on our relationship, but I've always been Team Julie."

Julie's analytical mind went to work. "How did we meet?"

"At a **** Bicycles concert. You spilled your drink on me."

"Where was our third date?"

"That Thai place on Greenspoint, I forget the name. It's gone now."

This was all accurate so far. "What was the name of the girl who you eat mud on the playground in third grade?"

Becca rolled her eyes. "Stacy Enfield, of course. You know this stuff! Where are you going with all this?"

There was no way Becca could have known that. Whatever this thing was, it was really powerful. She was getting a little turned on thinking of the possibilities. An idea occurred to her.

"So, Julie, what do you want to use this thing for?"
