Chapter 3 by TangoDelta3 TangoDelta3

What Next?

Looking a bit too into things.

Cassandra was brought out of her trance with the door as she felt a hand on her shoulder, being calmed by the hand of her bubbly friend. Beth was beaming as she held the loosely drawn map in her other hand. Her hair, which trailed to her upper back, was tied back in a pony tail and swaying in the breeze.

“Feeling scared?” She teased as Sarah walked up to the first step of the stairs leading downward. The redhead’s gait staggered as Beth assumed her foot was still asleep or a similar reason. Beth’s question poked a tiny nerve in Cassandra considering she was never the one to shy from the adventures in their childhoods.

“No, I’m not.” The blonde denied as Sarah was the first to stagger down the steps. Around halfway down the steps was when her gait straightened out. Seems her legs woke up.

Shaking through my trepidation of going inside I steeled myself for a good adventure.

Cassandra chose to follow after Sarah second, letting Beth following last. Seeing that Beth was the one with the flashlight as the beam of light shone past her. Cassandra confidently walked after Sarah as she began to examine the rusted steel door.

“This may be what stops us Beth.” Cassandra rhetorically spoke, indirectly telling her that this may be a waste of time if they can’t open the bunker. Sarah began to grab onto the mechanism to open the door. Using all her might as a tiny squeak began to whine.

“Don’t worry, Cassy. When I found this bunker I made sure I can open it. Squirted it with oil too.” Beth confidently to us as she stood on the final steps from the landing behind her two friends. Once Beth finish was when the small squeaks became metallic shrieks as the wheel turned and turned.

“We won’t need to worry about opening the door here.” Beth cheered as the door to the bunker creaked and whined open.

Sarah, being the more squeamish of the three of us, hesitated Infront of the opening. All of us only seeing cobwebs, dust, and shadows. Cassandra flowed past Sarah and took the first steps inside. Walking only as far as the natural daylight could reach.

She gave her eyes a minute to adjust to the darkness. The bright day outside an anathema down in this dusty bunker. A wide room about as large as the blonde’s apartment. Her eyes seeing shelves and shelves of boxes of food. Caked in dust. With the door leading out of the bunker to her back, there were three other doors. One in front of her, one to her left, and the last to her right.

Who do we follow?
