Your chance comes. The bed crushes you, but then eases. Sal’s feet appear on the floor and she leaves the room.

You have made up your mind. You aren’t a ghost and an observer anymore; now you’re the one making the moves. It’s time to act. You wiggle out and get to your feet, creeping to the door to check the hall.

A door clicks somewhere. You don’t see anyone moving.

You go to the closet and look closer. There’s room to hide out of sight if you get stuck in here. A faint, musky scent in the room tells you what Sal was doing while you were under the bed. If you’d hidden in the closet, you might’ve been able to see. But this is a sneaking mission, not a horny mission.

You’re about to return to the bed, but something catches your eye: a mask and a robe in the back of Sal’s closet. You know a Peachface mask when you see one. Looks like Sal is planning a prank on CCL House, and not a very tasteful one. Maybe she planned one and then thought better of it.

You go back to the bed. The Macbook is open. As you thought, it’s synced to Sal’s phone so she can receive texts on it and share everything. You enter her contacts and find Athena. She’s in there under ‘Athena ccl’. That alone tells you definitively that their relationship isn’t personal.

You open the texts. It’s all Sal hassling Athena to meet. There are several calls between them, but none of them are very long, and of course you have no way of knowing what was said.

Sal’s rude. Athena is brisk and short. Neither of them puts anything incriminating in the texts because they aren’t idiots, but the picture is crystal clear: Sal is extorting Athena somehow. It’s got to be for money, but how? Is it ****? What could Sal have on Athena? Whatever it is, it must be heavy.

The mission just changed. You came here to get answers. You don’t have them all, but it’s enough. The bottom line is that of all the people that Sal could bully, she’s bullying Athena. You won’t tolerate it. You’re going to stop her here and now.

You enter Sal’s contacts and delete Athena’s number. You make a new contact under Athena’s name, but with your number. You change Sal’s password and close the laptop, rising to your feet and going back to the closet.

Inside, the mask and the robe wait.
