Boom!

While the gunfire has died down at the base, there has been a surge in the city. As the darkness settles over the land, you get a chance to see the chaos spread across the city. Flames start to become visible, and the occasional boom is heard.

"I guess the other team is running wild." Says Nicole as she stands next to you, observing the orange hue in the distance.

"Maybe... anything yet?" you ask again on the radio.

"No."

"All clear!"

You look toward Nicole and shrug your shoulders. Maybe she is indeed wrong.

"Max, I think I can hear them coming."

You nod, agreeing with her. "I guess we found the missing people."

It doesn't take long before you hear Adriana reporting back. "Backup is here, and they've got tanks!" "Argh!!!" *Thud* ... BOOM!"

"Edward, we need to retreat! NOW"

"Just keep them away for a bit longer!"

"How do you expect me to fight a tank? We have not prepared for this!"

"Fuck! How much longer?" He asks for further information.

"5 minutes!"

"We are retreating!" You can hear Adriana inform Edward.

"Stay there and fight them!"

"Fall back!"She orders her group. "You come and fight..." She doesn't get to finish her sentence because the transmission cuts off. It coincides with the loud bang you've heard in the distance.

"Hey, Adriana! Answer, Goddammit!"

She probably isn't going to answer anytime soon. She could have at least told you how many there are.

"Just wait here!" You tell Nicole and proceed to climb to the same building again. The fire caused by the humans lets you get a good view of five tanks and a bunch of people behind them, shooting the retreating werewolves. If you were all together and got close to the tanks, they might not have stood a chance, but taking cannon shells before they could engage the enemy, obliterated any chance of fighting back.

"Are those helicopters?" Two helicopters are marching unimpeded towards your location. "Oi, oi, Edward, we have helicopters on our way!"

"I can hear them! Stall them!"

"Stall them with what?" You crazy bastard... You see them turning in your direction, so you immediately turn around and jump down. "Fuck that!"

Before you get to land, the front of the building explodes, and the **** of the impact unbalances you, making you faceplant. "Ugh... Everyone, get to cover NOW!" You say on the main channel as you struggle to get up.

"What was that?"

"What's happening?"

"Get inside and don't come out!" You quickly follow your own order and hide inside a building.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" asks Edward.

"You better get inside too, if you don't want to die."

"Keep working! You take orders from me and no one else!" He orders them over the radio.

It didn't take the helicopters more than a few seconds to get above the complex and instantly achieve total dominance. The machine gun rattles, unstoppable, killing anything that moves. Friendly or foe, it doesn't matter. It seems that you weren't the only cannon fodder in this war.

Peeking out the window, you see that the tanks have also made it to the entrance. A small number of the same guys, covered in red religious symbols as last time, mix with the infantry. They are slowly advancing inside. Luckily, there isn't enough space for the tanks to enter, so they are satisfied with gaining control of the exterior of the base.
