Chapter 22
by
SG
What does she want?
To talk to her sister alone.
"I wanna talk to Sam."
"That's sort of what you've been doing-"
"No." Janet replied harshly. "Just Sam."
Jake and Sam looked at each other. Sam spoke. "That's... not really how this works."
"Ok, how about I kill him? Will that stop the thoughts? Or maybe just put him in a coma with a cast iron pan?" Janet glared at Jake. "Or you can just pop another Ambien and pass out I can talk to my sister."
Sam cleared her throat. "That got kind of weird last time, I think... actually, I think that's a good idea."
"Did you just mind control her to say that? Go pass out on your bed and if you're lucky you may wake up."
Jake dutifully headed off to bed. Sam started to speak but Sam shushed her. "I'm not talking to you while he's still in there. Tell me when he's gone."
They sat in awkward silence for a few minutes, then Sam yawned. "I'm feeling a little dizzy... I think it's kicking in. Yeah, whew, definitely feeling it. I don't think... it'll be long... falling asleep..."
Her face assumed a neutral expression. Just like last time, she folded her hands and placed them in her lap. She quietly turned to Janet.
"Hello, sister."
