Tell her?
Sure.
He decided honesty was the best policy. He slowly relayed the events of the afternoon. She was listening silently, a growing skepticism on her face. When he was done, he looked at her hopefully. Maybe she believed him?
"So to summarize, you got a magic ability to, what, 'remove attributes' from stuff, and you 'removed' selfishness from yourself?" she asked.
He knew it would sound crazy. "More or less, yeah."
"That's the biggest crock of shit I've ever heard in my life. Listen, whatever you're up to, I don't wanna know, ok? Just let us have this nice dinner. Just one nice dinner, then you can tell you've been fucking your secretary or you killed my sister or whatever horrible thing you're clearly covering for here."
He sighed. That went exactly how he'd expected. The car took on an icy silence as they continued on their way to the restaurant.
A thought occurred to Jamie a few minutes later. Why not demonstrate his ability? He was incredibly thinking about it like it was real and not some weird delusion. So if it was real, how to prove it?
