Hypostatic manipulation

Hypostatic abstraction is the decoupling of an object and a property from essential to relational. In other words, an object goes from being X to possessing Xness. For example, instead of being hungry, I have hunger; instead of being sunny, the day has sunniness.

With hypostatic manipulation, the user is able to not just abstract essence to relation, but then manipulate that relation. If my friend is late to lunch, I can "take" his lateness; I can "give" a stranger that same lateness. If I'm sitting at a bar with two friends, I can give Sam's "Sam-ness" to Diane, and Diane's "Diane-ness" to Sam. I could also take Sam's Sam-ness and give Sam Diane's Diane-ness and my "me-ness," leaving Diane without essential identity.

If this all sounds confusing, that's because it is! It'll be tricky to figure it out, but I think our user will get there eventually.
